Visited the Acor 3 times during our two night stay. Only sat in the outside area, part of the central square. Had a pizza once and just drinks and pastries the other times. Very popular with visitors and locals. Good ambiance. Recommended.

Although all restaurants on the Azores more or less serve very average pub-style food this place stood out. The food was tasty, the portions were massive and the sefvice is very friendly. Bonus points for letting us sit and stay after dinner to watch the euro football match.

We stayed in Velas and ate there both nights. The menu is wide ranging and the quality of food quite good. Fresh fish from the harbor's daily catch to pasta and pizza. There's not a lot of choice in Velas, but this place was a positive surprise. Very nice staff too.

A great place to eat. Friendly chatty staff who speak good English. The food was a mix of local Portuguese and international. The portions were big, the local Azorean wines cheap and delicious and the prices were low. A lovely atmosphere all around.

I had the most delicious grilled shrimp for lunch. A little bit salty, and grill flavored. So good. Note: Charge cards not accepted so bring Euros!

We ate here at least 3 times during a 5-day stay (mostly for breakfast) and then would come back to use the wifi and have wine every night. Great staff and location. It was simply an easy place to be and lots of local diners. It became our homebase whenever we didn't know where else to go. We could just... More

3 Cheers for Restaurante Açors!!! We just happened upon this treasure. The first night they had a buffet. Typically I avoid buffets but watching the waitresses scurrying back and forth bringing one gorgeous looking dish after another I changed my ways. They served a variety of traditional Azorean food, meat dishes, seafood with pasta, chicken in a creamy garlic sauce,... More

Came here for dinner. Great service & lovely food. Unprepossessing environment but the whole vibe is lively. Highly recommended.
