We chose this place because of good TripAdvisor ratings. I wonder how and why this place got such high ratings from travelers. Service is exceptionally slow, they don't care about guests, food is below average. Looks like in the seventies.

Went for lunch with a group. Excellent food and very friendly service. And that heavenly ice cream dessert!

Big portions as usual on the islands but not at the expense of quality. Octopus and mussels were both delicious!

Alaina welcomes you in here charming location in Cedros Faial ... nice food, nice service amd pleasant atmosphere... have fun !

We have visited Faial a few times but had never been to Aldina's. We went for starters on two afternoons and enjoyed them very much. We then reserved a small group lunch and we were delighted with the food and the friendly and helpful staff....The octopus salad, the mussels, the many different fresh fish entrees, the wine, and more were all enjoyed.More

Everyone we asked suggested Aldina which we found on our trip around Faial! It is attached to a grocery store and it was very busy with a tour bus and locals! We decided to wait and it was well worth the wait! We had seafood...dishes were fresh and delicious. We thought we would not want dessert, but we decided on the salted caramel ice cream and strawberry cheese cake. Everything was delicious, made fresh daily when it is ordered, the service was friendly and excellent, and the prices were reasonable. The view of the ocean from the deck was plus.More

Had a great dinner on our last night on the island. Decided to stay local instead of driving into Horta. We were glad we did! Great food in a simple, friendly environment. The owner herself came over to help translate for us to be sure...we understood the menu. The sweet waitress prior got out a fish book with pictures to help us to understand. My husband had swordfish and I had chicken cooked with bacon, honey, garlic and rosemary - both excellent. We started with an octopus salad, also excellent- the most tender octopus we had in our 13 days in The Azores. Don't let the fact that the restaurant says "snack bar" and is hiding behind a grocery store fool you - it's really good!More

A simple little restaurant that caused a lot of surprises! The owner lady was very fond of explaining the dishes that were delicious. During our two-week trip this was the favorite and the finest restaurant !! As I have noticed a lot of tourists coming...here, I do not hesitate to recommend it to everyone;) taste the homemade ice cream !!!! ;)More

So, I've been once before for a drink and shopping a couple of years ago. This time I got to meet up with friends and have a fantastic lunch there. Yes, this is a bar, a restaurant, coffee stop and a small supermarket all under...one roof. The food was very good. I had Mussels to start...well after them (served with two loaves of bread!) I didn't think I would have room for the main that i'd ordered...but I did, just. For main course I had trigger fish which was served with french fries and a salad. I had a couple of beers to wash it down. So, the food: The mussels where fresh and wild, not farmed. Served in a butter, white wine and pimento sauce. Thank goodness for the fresh crusty bread to soak up the juices. Simply delicious. But of course, typical Azorean portions and I could not finish all the sauce, despite having ample bread. The main course was Trigger Fish, this had been portend into goujons and deep fried. Delicious and manageable, rather than whole fish. It was so very fresh. This was served with crispy fries that got dunked in the mussel sauce :) A nice glad was provided, although I hardly had room for it. The beer (Super Bock) was served ice cold and in 440ml glasses. So about a pint. Afterwards we had Agua Dente... basically fire water. Wow. In conclusion, this meal was brilliant, and the highlight of my stay - of course the good company and conversation made it all the better. A final word about Aldina's ; it is also has a small supermarket that sells an unbelievable range of produce. All at prices that makes Brits weep. There is a bar that serves coffee and drinks, an outside seating area and ample parking.More

We had hiked from the Caldeira down to the Levant and then to restaurant Aldina and were hungry and thirsty. The place was full but the manager arranged a table inside and wow were we impressed! The food was excellent, limpets, squid for me and...soup and fish for my Wife. This is a fantastic restaurant and I highly recommend itMore
