We had a nice evening in A Casinhas in Sagres. Smooth jazz, a well and authentic decorated dining room and friendly service. We ordered the house's special: a delicious cataplana of fish and meat. The recommended wine by the glass was a perfect fit. We ended with a nice apple pie dessert. Great place for a delicious Portuguese dinner.

Sagres is worth the visit for anyone traveling in the Algarve region of Southern Portugal. While you are there, make sure to stop in at A Casinha (The cottage) restaurant in town. It seemed to be popular with the locals and that's a good sign. It's also why we stopped in. Right away we understood why it was so popular.... More

We stopped here for lunch when we visited Sagres on a hot Saturday afternoon. It was surprisingly quiet, although no doubt everyone was at the beach! I have read good reviews about this place, hence our visit there and it didn't disappoint. The food was superb, the waiting staff friendly, helpful and attentive and it was also good value to... I had a good experience here, although they did seem to find it odd I was dining alone. The starter salad I had was outstanding. Octopus, shrimp, sardines, with fresh lettuce and vegetables. The rose wine was affordable and the perfect complement. They didn't have clams, so I ordered the tuna. It's in a red sauce of sorts, with onions.... More

The place is really nice we went for lunch, they have very nice wines (we had an alvarinho muros antiguos ) and the food was extremely tasty, they re not cheap but definitely worth it.

Staying in Sagres and had read a good review. Owner/waiter was dry but funny, and recommended only the freshest fish and a great sausage and egg appetizer. He had a wonderful jazz collection and a good sense of humor. Interesting traditional and modern dishes. A keeper-don't miss while in town.

We ate here our first night in Sagres. My husband had skate fish which was plentiful, fresh and prepared well. I had beef which was tender and flavorful. Both dishes came with sides which were nicely done. The couvert (starter) had samples of sardines, cod with lentils, olives and curried chicken and some bread. We had a good rose wine... More

We only ate here once because Vila Velha and Mums were closed. We did not feel at all welcome and were not drawn to go back. The food was o.k. but there was little or no atmosphere, the service was all right but a bit impersonal and unfriendly. Excellent fresh fish but there are plenty of places in Sagres serving... More
