On a sunny Sunday afternoon the choices are rather limited in Sagres. We stumbled across this place and it was between average and good. Lots of seating. Parking is just down the street. It's on the main street. There were lots of seafood related items on the menu as well as other meats. I should have stuck with a seafood... More

We had grilled prawns and the beefsteak (house style). The prawns were okay, but nothing special. The steak was one of the worst I've ever had, dry like hell with ham and cheese as "topping" and a completely uninspired sauce made of mushrooms and cream. The service was friendly but uncoordinated and slow. For the served food we wouldn't had... More

Let me clarify the above to start with. We always had exceptional food in Portugal and never had a bad meal. This very unassuming what can possibly be described as a canteen was a real find. Very close to the memmo baleira hotel we decided not to go far afield for dinner. I always say go to the places which... More

after a windy day we stayed for dinner in this restaurant and had a very tasty and creamy fishsoup. in addition we had one fish dish together as we do not like to eat a lot in the evening, so we often share. this was no problem, and we enjoyed the friendly family style andagile service.

This restaurant was quite busy at lunchtime and the menu advertised local dishes. The waitress was welcoming and we were soon tucking into drinks and nibbles. My wife and I both had the fish soup, full of tasty pieces. Next was grilled squid, fresh and delicious, not chewy as some can be. The sea bream was also very tasty, plenty... More

Old restaurant in main street, but don't take into account the first impression. The waitress is nice and helpfull. We got an arros de Marisco, which took long to come, but worthwile, delicious, complete and well done. Wine house is an excellent choice at a very correct rate.

Standing near the edge of the town and close to the little fishing port, O Pescador lacks a sea-view but it makes up for this by offering a warm welcome, friendly service and cheaper prices than some of the harbour-front ones. Although unpretentious it's spotlessly clean and the sea-food is excellent.
