Wine & Beer bar O Tasco is a located at the lovely small square of Caldas de Monchique. O Tasco offers coffee, drinks, finger food and simple dishes. Caldas de Monchique is popular with tourists and spa guests. Service is adequate. Revisiting Caldas de Monchique...(first visit 1980) we were tempted for a coffee. No terrace service. You get your drink at the bar and enjoy your coffee at the simple terrace. We went for cappuccino and espresso. Both were very goodMore
We had lunch here - ordered piri piri chicken - the wait was 30 minutes - but WELL worth the wait! Some staff speak English - not all. There was quite a few locals in the restaurant- which tells us it’s popular. Two chicken with...ber and wine was 22.30.More
Nice place, but expensive drinks! We would not go back as there are places nearby selling drinks for half the prices charged here!
The food was delicious - you have to try their home made chorizo bread - it is gorgeous! The waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. Gorgeous interior with the choice to sit outside also.
Wine and tapas bar right next to the natural springs at Caldas de Monchique. Really enjoyed the sausage baked in bread and a creamy smooth vegetable soup. Best of all – really good coffee in the morning and an excellent pot of tea in the...afternoon.More
Although this is a Portuguese restaurant it caters for the high number of ex-pat locals, and does it really well. Friendly staff and a family atmosphere.
This bar/tapas place sits just off the main square in the delightful spa village of Caldas de Monchique. There’s plenty of shade and greenery and a very peaceful atmosphere. It doesn’t do fullscale meals, but drinks, sandwiches and tapas. I would recommend the orange tart...delicious....Recommended.More
Situated in Caldas de Monchique at the beginning of the walk up to excellent Monchique water. Friendly staff. Very picturesque. We had chorizo bread and wine with a Pastela de nata to finish it off.Well worth a visit.
When we booked a stay at the Villa, we got a complementary voucher to taste pão com chouriço (pieces of chorizo meat baked into a roll). Besides the Chouriço roll, we ordered tapas and even a soup. The food was tasty and the portions were...generous. Friendly service! Just bear in mind that there is no waiting at the tables.More
Nice little bar tucked away, with good outdoor seating. Tapas and other snacks are tasty. BUT! The service really should be improved. One waiter, not really on the ball, who did eventually appear with dishes, but it's obviously not in his job contract to clear...any of the tables, so he just plonks your tapas down on tables full of dirty cutlery etc from the previous diners. The answer is to clear the tables yourself, which is ok, but not exactly what you want .More
When it is hot (like it was today) all you want for lunch is some cool shade, cold beer and a light lunch. And this is exactly what 'O Tasco) offers. Nice sandwiches produced by friendly staff, just what we needed.
If you are exploring the thermal spa or just enjoying a stroll in this little village, pop into this bar built into the caves under a building. The custard tarts are delicious and the coffee good!
If you do nothing else in this village you must try the spicy sausage in bread. The breadis baked around a cooked sausage and is one of the best snack lunches ever.
We took our friends here for lunch during a lovely day out in the area. We ordered cheese and ham sandwiches which were so stale we took them home to toast later. Two of us tried to order the half litre of sangria which was...advertised on the menu board only to be told we could only have the litre jug which was 12euros-out of this jug we managed to squeeze out just over three glasses, have to say this place is a real rip off, don't go there if you want an enjoyable lunch, we certainly won't be revisiting.More
