Just back from lunch with friends. Have not been to Leonel's for a while and it was excellent. The restaurant was full on a Monday lunchtime. Couvert of fresh bread, sardine pate and olives. Great piri piri chicken served with salad and fries. Separate bowl of piri piri sauce which was fantastic. Good service. Excellent value at €13 per head... More

Leonel's is a real favourite. Okay, it's not fine dining, but for 20 euros for a couple's meal, you'll leave with change. Piri Piri is charcoal grilled, comes with abundant fresh chips and a large dressed salad. You get couvert and beautiful local cheese, and service with a smile. Menu is quite diverse with all meals under 10 euros. Get... More

Cheap and cheerful but great chicken piri piri. Bread olives, cheese, chicken, salad and chips, wine just over 10 euros, although it does depend on the amount of wine you drink . 😀😄

We visited on the recomendation of a freind and weren't disappointed - good basic food, well cooked, great prices and served well in nice clean and cheerful surroundings. It will be hard to go to the market on Saturday and NOT call in here for lunch....could be habbit forming!

On the way into Loule from Sao Bras on the right before you get to the avenida. Typical Portuguese restaurant. Food generally all good - like all places very occasionally you get an 'off day'. Chickens good but I generally go for lamb chops - You get about 7 and its as cheap to eat them there as it is... More

Good bread with cheese, pate and olives. The chicken was very good and served with salad and fries. The chicken is great value at €4.50. The service was somewhat lacking. Had to ask twice on a number of occasions. Service was not with a smile !!!!!

The place was packed when we visited on a Saturday night, luckily a friend had booked. Couvert was traditional, olives well marinated plus a nice bit of cheese which was not expensive. I was a bit fearful when the chicken piri piri turned up as it looked like the sauce was very, very hot, and being a bit of a... More

There are 2 reasons for dining here. First the prices. Very good value for money. Secondly in my opinion it serves the best chicken piri-piri in the Algarve. This would also explain why this restaurant is always busy.
