Unpretentious but it was good to be surrounded by local families, all ages eating together. It is situated off the road, in a pedestrian area so pavement tables, even in December we sat out, inside was rather interesting, the ceiling is cladded with bamboo canes, actually very atmospheric. We ordered the liver and asked for it to be cooked 'lightly'... More

An authentic Portuguese restaurant in the middle of the town - very unassuming but delicious meals, good service and excellent value. Nice courtyard setting. We visited several times during our stay in Loule, our favourite dish was the bacalhau (cod) with potatoes and eggs. Open for lunch till 3pmish, not open on Monday.

We had a nice lunch. Nothing spectacular but good enough for the money . We had originally hoped to eat some Portugese tapas here but that information was incorrect . They serve typical Portugese food, on a small terras. Tasty, but we've tasted better .

It is so refreshing to be able to eat traditional portuguese dishes that are cooked from fresh ingredients bought daily, a changing menu with lots of choice and wonderful dishes of the day, the favas ( broad bean stew with meat ) is excellent as are the pataniscas ( little codfish fritters) if you are an omelette lover then this... We had fish (mackerels and tuna steak) which was really tasty and plenty. The owner was really friendly and we especially liked the honest and untouristy feeling.

This is the best meal we've had in the Algarve yet! They offer fantastic local food (we both had fish dishes & dessert), all of which is reasonably priced. The waiter could not have been more helpful. We're really glad we stumbled across this place on a pretty side street.

When you want a simple, no frills, wholesome breakfast, this is the perfect place. They speak English and try hard to please their customers. Fresh orange juice, scrambled eggs with bacon and beans, with buttered toast, served promptly.

This was absolutely the worst food we have had anywhere .... Won't even bother to go into details. Two different dishes came to the table and both were bad. Save yourself some aggravation and avoid at all cost !!!

Description
Restaurante Apolo-Loule
Found it by chance because was raining outside and needed to find a place as soon as possible (baby in the push chair). Close to the centre in a narrow street, very traditional. Staff very pleasant, food amazing, very very good value, best experience in the whole week spent in the Algarve. Don’t miss the glass of red wine for 1 euro. The coffee was 0.60 euros, I had a nice fish for 7 euros and my husband the sardines for 5.5 euros. Everything was very well cooked, nice veg, sauce excellent…again was our best experience ever.
