About
Ricardo Gosling is a Portuguese born with English descent who crossed paths with Boris Kondratiev, in one of the leading food chains in London, where they worked together for many years. Both food lovers and business men, with the dream of settling themselves in the Algarve, the partners have joined forces and made this Casa do Prego a must go within locals and tourists. One being totally turned to the public-relations and team leading, and the other one playing a fundamental role on creation and conception, as well as on new sources of investment and expansion of the project, Ricardo and Boris are the parts of the puzzle that fit perfectly together. In 2015 Ricardo opened a small restaurant

The tuna steak is really excellent. Never had a better steak than this. And lovely atmosphere as well: good music and nice staff.

Waited an hour up on terrace waiting for a table below. We didn’t mind we heard great things about the food. Waiter upstairs with dreads was lovely and friendly. When it got cool he gave me a blanket. An hour passed and as promised we...got a seat below and ordered 2 Americano dishes - rump steak and chips. The steak came out covered in grated white cheddar cheese and bbq sauce squirted on in patches over the cheese. It was nice but it wasn’t anything special, if anything it was quite bizarre looking. My partner ate all his food, I ate a good bit too but we both found it underwhelming. Overpriced and overhyped. Nice restaurant interior however and really friendly staff. Maybe we just chose wrong dish for us ?More

Staff are super friendly and helpful. The service was really great. Food was good, a very informal casual vibe. Wish they had one or two more vegetarian dishes but what we had we enjoyed.

Nice atmosphere and staff but the food really wasn’t as good as we expected. We read good reviews and came here but found that the portions of the tapas were tiny, with only a few pieces of meat and fish in each. The sauces in...the dishes were overly salty and lacked flavour, and were very expensive for what they were. All in all we walked away still hungry and quite disappointed.More

It has a busy atmosphere and I believe a rooftop bar area (it was fully booked when we were there). Service is OK and food OK. I read many great reviews before we went. Everyone has different experiences and opinions. For me it was OK,...but we ate in better places whilst in Lagos.More

We had a lovely experience at Casa do Prego. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. We visited our first night in Lagos and it definitely set the standard food wise for the next 2 weeks! The only reason I’m giving it...4 stars is because it is quite expensive but other than that it was great 🤍More

We ate twice in Casa do Prego during our recent holiday. This is actually the third year in a row we have returned to this fabulous restaurant. On both of our most recent visits, we experienced excellent service from Boris and his team and enjoyed...delicious meals. This restaurant is a real gem in Lagos and, although you can’t book in July and August, it is well worth the wait. The queue is testament to their well deserved popularity and their super- efficient queuing system and cool roof top bar makes the wait painless.More

We went there for tapas and a few drinks with my girlfriend. An amazing experience wether for the quality and taste of the food and drinks than for the warm welcome and great service of the staff. You must try the beetroots hummus as well...as their Gin verde cocktail. Thanks again for this great moment. Romain and Marine Cheers from FranceMore

We hadn’t planned to visit until later in the week but our chosen restaurant for tonight ended up being closed due to staffing issues, so we improvised and decided to check in on Casa Do Prego to see if we could snag a table for...4. Boris greeted us at the top of the stairs and advise we would have a 20 ish minute wait but that we could avail of the rooftop bar until out table was ready, he also commented that as we’d been before we knew how it worked! Having been here many times (but never wearing a mask) I agreed and said “yeah no worries” I chose to accept that he did recognise me! Even after a 3 year gap since our last visit. We started with some pints of beer in he bar and were seated at our table before they were finished! We ordered the beetroot & humus, and garlic prawns to share as a starter and the 3 ladies ordered the steak in seat potato bread sandwich for mains, I ordered the Americano Steak fir mine. It’s been 3 years but it may as well have been a week - the food, beer, wine & Service was absolutely top notch! No complaints at all, I can’t even be picky about it and complain about something trivial - there was nothing! Even our waiter service ( I think his name was Kaytano) was excellent. A fantastic experience with a great atmosphere and a very reasonable price ( we paid €95 for 4 (4 beers & a bottle of wine + food). We will be back before our holiday is over!More
