Cayo Coco is right off a popular square. It doesn't look fancy or traditional. It looks touristy. And it was even one of the less crowded places (a sign that usually steers me away). But after circling by it (and by A LOT) of other restaurants, we were getting hungry and decided to give it a go after seeing that the octopus special was under 10 euros. (They also had a whole early bird special with wine, 2 entrees, and a dessert for like 20 euros. And the entrees? Lobster.) This was one of the best meals we had in Portugal. Our British waitress was friendly. The prices were reasonably low. And the food was marvelous. My octopus literally melted in my mouth. Oh and the sangria was amazing. I only have fond memories of our dining experience at Cayo Coco. Don't let the look of the place dissuade you. Great food at good prices.

We usually are skeptical of restaurants that are so well located as they often tend to be tourist traps, but this place was fabulous with amazing quality and flavors. Great value, too!!! Don't miss it. Try the coco loco dish!

My wife and I have recently spent a week in Lagos to celebrate my birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary. Looking for somewhere to eat is quite mind boggling as there are so many restaurants to choose from. We found Cayo Coco on our second night and dined there on four occasions. The restaurant is owned by a couple from Venezuela and the food is a mixture of south American, Portuguese and Thai style. We found the food to be excellent and amazing value. I won't go into details, just check out the images to see what I mean. All I will say is on our first visit we had soup of the day followed by a main from the regular menu and one from the specials board. We also had a bottle of house red called Amnesia! plus two white coffees for my wife with two espressos and two local brandies for myself and the bill came to just over £29!! I actually queried the bill as I thought we had been undercharged! Finally, a special mention must go to Amy the waitress from Poynton who was so friendly and was so knowledgeable when it came to the menu. She really is an asset to the restaurant. If you are in Lagos call in. It's just off St Sebastian square.

To be honest we weren't going to even go to this place, we had walked past several restaurants that were packed and found Cayo coco empty apart from 2 guest, not a great advert for a eatery. We actually only picked it because it was close to the taxi rank and had plenty of room for the pram. Our first course was the hot wings which were some of the best wings I have even eaten (I have eaten a lot of wings). For main I had the Portuguese steak which was also excellent! My partner had the fajitas which she tells me were also excellent. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough. A must visit

Lovely chicken, best food I have had in Portugal. Go for lunch and enjoy! Tucked away in a very touristy area but don't let that deter you.

My first visit having spent many holidays in this part of the Algarve. Very special food and menu, an even better level of service. This is defiantly not a retardant I shall walk past in the future.

Situated to the right just off the main square(with the statue). The waitress who served us was very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. Ask the staff were very friendly. My husband and friend shared a monkfish cataplana which also had clams & large prawns in it which they really enjoyed... My friend and I and 2 of the children each had the spit roast chicken skewer which was really tasty.. There wasn't a scrap left. And it turned out to be the least expensive meal of the holiday!

We turned up hot and bothered with four hungry teenager. The staff could not do enough to accommodate us. They moved tables into the shade for us and got cold drinks quickly. We ordered from a menu with a nice selection and were also told about a choice of specials. The food came without delay and was of a good quality. If you are in Lagos and you want nice food and drink at very affordable prices then pay this place a visit.

Small little restaurant located near the city's Centre. Weekend nights you can clearly here the live music playing in the Centre. Lagos tends to be a very windy city at night but this patio is well covered and the wind barely affects your meal and overall experience. Prices are decent compared to most places as well...Last but not least, try the prawn curry, to die for!!!

We visited here last night, my wife, two children and I. We were walking around Lagos town and had looked at the menus at a number of restaurants, by now the children and wife were hungry so we settled on Cayo Coco. It was a good choice. There was a good mix of choices on the menu, I had the spit roast chicken with sweet chilli sauce, it was very tasty and came on a hanging skewer! Would visit again.

Before I landed in Lagos this place was in top 5 places to eat so I made my way here and somewhat let down on whole experience. Firstly it was totally empty at 8pm - even the outside areas which obviously start thinking about it and also prevents a good atmosphere. I can't complain about the service because we were dealt with quickly as the only people there and the waiter was very friendly. Food was average at the best and the wife decided to try the tropical chicken which was somewhat of a caribbean curry, which we question the chicken? was it Pork? the rest of the meal was tasty enough and overall it was a pleasent enough experience but concerned how it's doing so well.

A very nice restaurant in Lagos town, we had an excellent meal here and the service was excellent. The menu is a bit different from the typical Lagos restaurant and we enjoyed our meal very much. It was very pleasant to people watch as we sat outside, we would definitely return.

Great food. Prawn and coconut curry is especially good. Value for money is the name of the game here.

Well, based on the reviews we were expecting some serious quality food, but it was nothing special, we had chicken fajitas and fish but neither of the dishes stood out. The chicken was served with just a single fajita, so we asked for more... Service was ok but there was no other interaction than taking our order and putting the plate on the table.
