Wow we have never been to such an amazing seafood restaurant. We had been craving decent seafood all week & this was our last opportunity before catching our flight home. It was recommended by the guide on our boat trip & what a great recommendation. We came for lunch but wanted it to be our main meal of the day,... More

What a gem of a place, looking over the Marina! A very good Portuguese friend from Faro took us to this lovely restaurant. We would never of found a place as good as this without him. It is on the opposite side of the Marina from the city. Walk as far as you can and its there in the corner.... More

Waited 30 minutes. Now one would serve us. Asked for service and they said would return but never did. Owner there and helped with larger groups sitting down after us. Walked out.

Arriving off the plane we headed straight for here, Michael Fitzalan writes about being stranded in the marshes here in Waterwitch. We just had a ten to fifteen minute taxi ride from the airport. Settling down to a delicious bottle of white wine, we awaited arrival of our friends from Lisbon. While we waited we were served with delicious crudités... More

Arriving there we were greeted cheerfully by the chef and seated by the owner. Our table was set and menus brought promptly. The service was great as the owner tried to explain to us how the menu works. I must add that the menu was a bit difficult to understand as most seafood had prices in kgs and other items... More

Very friendly 'old school' staff with an excellent selection of local seafood. Not the best decorated but you go for the view over the marina and the fresh food.

We wanted to try this local speciality & we are so pleased that we tried it at Benfica, as recommended in the Independent's newspaper 48 hours in Faro guide. The seafood & fish Cataplanas was a hearty meal for 2 people @ 42€. The quality of the ingredients really was excellent. Don't bother with a starter, luckily we only ordered... More

Staff is knowledgeable and attentive, the setting (by the Marina) unbeatable and the shellfish rice to die for, with a coriander touch that changes the dish completely and makes it sublimely exotic. Sunctous king prawns in very generous numbers A full casserole for two to share leaves you satisfied and the price is contained. This place is a winner!!
