The Lighthouse has two spacious terraces overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, an elegant dining room, a separate lounge and bar area, a pool bar with two swimming pools, as well as a children`s play area. The panoramic views from the terrace are stunning and the outdoor lounge compliments the stylish design and ambiance of the restaurant. The Lighthouse has recently been refurbished and has attractively been decorated with bespoke artwork, consistent with the theme of the restaurant. A hidden gem

Not to be missed, a little gem in sleepy Carvoeiro. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the food - excellent! As someone who worked back-of-house in the restaurant industry for years this restaurant is definitely above par for the prices. Hearty portions packed with flavour, not lacking in authenticity. We came away very satisfied and wanting to share the great experience with others.

Lovely and family friendly

Lovely restaurant with very friendly staff. We were with two very tiered children (after an action packed day at Slide and Splash) but despite them being very grumpy the staff/owners made it an relaxing and enjoyable evening. The food was also very good with the Cod and Prawn Lighthouse special highly recommended. Also very accommodating for vegetarian children.

Superb sunset

Visited the restaurant for the first time last night and the positioning is second to none with panoramic views of the sea and a beautiful position to watch the sunset. The food was also excellent and the service we received was also top class, the owners Colin & Keith took time to come and talk to us and and shared their plans for the future which include making the venue available for weddings which given the facilities and views would be excellent. The pandemic has hit their business hard as it has many businesses but they are battling through and providing excellent food coupled with great service with views that can’t be bettered in the area. They also have a very good vegan selection which is a rarity in the area.

Great food and service under difficult times

This restaurant is just down the hill from our villa so we popped in for a meal and returned three times in a week!!!! Really delicious menu of well thought dishes covering all the bases. The waiters one English and one Portuguese were both really good fun and made recommendation that surpassed our expectations. We met the owner and his family who are a delight, who respect the fact that they have a prime position as the view is just WOW!!

Favourite restaurant on our holiday.

We visited The Lighthouse during our family holiday, and we were so impressed, we returned later on in the week to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The menu is very imaginative and they clearly have an excellent chef, everything we ordered was above our expectations (even the covert!) . The management and front of house team were all so friendly, and polite, nothing was too much trouble. The view and sunset were also amazing on both of our visits. Thank you so much.

A very good choice for a nice meal when staying in the Carvoeiro area. Excellent food, freshly prepared by a skilled chef. This is probably one of the more pricey restaurants in the local area, you can expect to have a total bill a little higher than other evening meals. It seems to cater for a lot of local golfers but welcoming to everyone. Process for booking was no trouble. Welcoming to families including younger children. Overall it was agreed we had our best meal in Portugal here on a recent 7 day holiday eating out every night. If you want something a bit special then this is the place to go. Maybe a need to review portion size as they were huge and numerous customers were commenting they couldn't finish their meals. Other reviews with comments about the manager don't seem justified she was very pleasant to us and was seen going around all customers checking everyone was happy. Only dropped one star because website and menu made references to live music but this schedule appears to have finished for the summer and records not updated which was disappointing. But still highly recommended.

Disgraceful front of house woman

We visited in May this year as had just bought a villa and found the restaurant, we had a great meal so decided to make a booking on one night for each week of our holiday in August. The first time was great and the five of us had a great night. We turned up in our second week for our second booking only to find that the person who had taken our bookings had only actually booked for our first week. The “lady” who was front of house made us feel very uncomfortable and was very belittling - and made us feel we were lying about the booking. She was extremely unpleasant ,sour faced and had absolutely no manners whatsoever. Our daughter who was also with us specialises in weddings as a travel agent and was impressed on first visiting and would have happily recommended the restaurant to some of her customers who were planning weddings, however after the way we were treated she says she won’t recommend the place. When we expressed our disappointment -the “ lady” had a could not care less attitude. I will certainly make sure that I let others know and will never set foot there again

Dianne, Firstly, As you mention, you have had reservations in the past which have been booked via our social media platforms. You were unable to prove a booking on this particular evening. Whilst we tried to accommodate you, it should be borne in mind that we were fully booked and did not want to disappoint other guests. Please note, we have a strict zero tolerance policy towards aggression or abusive conduct directed at our staff. No member of staff should be subjected to this unacceptable behaviour. Excellent food... great location 🥂

We visited this restaurant several times .... how refreshing to see lots of vegan options on a menu both starters and mains( gluten free is available too)...the menu also has meat and fish options. The food is excellent quality... up there with the best we’ve had in Carvoeiro,staff very friendly and attentive and it’s a perfect location to watch the sunset 🌅

Amazing views with food to match

Had dinner here last night as not been for some time. Received a Fantastic welcome and shown a table. We both decided to have the crispy chicken supreme as this had been recommended, we were not disappointed. Juicy chicken in a beautiful sauce with vegetables cooked to perfection. The view is to die for, truly stunning. Colin and his team are doing a great job, warm welcomes, safe, clean environment and lovely food. What more could you ask for.

Lovely evening at a classy restaurant

We are a family of 6, grandparents, parents and teens and had meals out most nights while staying at Rocha Brava. All were good but Lighthouse stood out as a cut above and not much extra in cost. The setting is lovely with sea views and what strikes you immediately is the number of attentive staff. The menu was extensive and imaginative and they were easily able to cater for two of us being gluten free. A white wine was recommended which was lovely but one of the cheaper ones on the list. When we had finished they were happy for us to linger over a coffee on the terrace and the owner even came over to check we were happy. I am sure this is a hang out for the prosperous golfing set in the area but we were made welcome and not intimidated whatsoever.

Eating out in Carverio

The light house bar and grill is the perfect setting for a evening meal with family. The venue offers comfortable seating area for pre dinner drinks with friendly service. We arrived in good time and ordered drinks and advised we would be shown to our table at our chosen time. After 20min over time and noticed others guests were being seated who arrived after us we had to ask the waitress who later admitted they had seated the wrong guests. As we were on holiday this was not a problem for us. The meals were excellent apart from the fillet steak which sadly was over cooked from what was ordered and at 40euro although still enjoyed was spoiled. Would still recommend

Amazing staff and great views

We went here for a family dinner in late September. There are plenty of food choices on the menu to accommodate for different dietary requirements and the food portions are very generous. The staff were amazing and so friendly, the service they provided was great. The setting of the restaurant is lovely and is great for watching the sunset.

This restaurant and bar has wonderful views for a sundowner and delicious meal. The team were welcoming & friendly. We enjoyed a chilled rose whilst watching the sunset - amazing views. The dinner menu had lots of choice and was a welcome change to the offerings from other restaurants in the area. We chose the salmon and sea bass: both outstanding. We’ll be back!

Definitely worth the trip to this restaurant! The food was unbelievable and offered lots of choice compared to other restaurants in the area. The staff were very lovely and personable to you and were constantly making sure we were having a great experience/ had everything we needed. We ended up going twice to this restaurant on our holiday since we liked it so much the first time enjoying all the food and time we spent on both occasions. To top this off, the location and decoration of the place especially the hanging lights outside made it a truly magical dining experience. Would 100% recommend

From the moment you step onto the terrace you are captivated by the beautiful ambience of sunset in the evening to a saxophonist playing and attention to detail. Greeted by the extremely accommodating and lovely kirsten ( who was so knowledgeable about the menu, allergies and indulgent veggie/vegan options ) much more than I have experienced anywhere. Seated to enjoy the best views which are really beautiful. Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and staff are attentive always going the extra mile to ensure your experience is the best it can be. Flavours and freshness of food are delicious ( we ate here multiple times in 10 days ) expertise of food preparation is also beautiful. Quality of service and food is of the highest standard, as is the atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and the generous portions. A magician on one of the nights that we visited definitely not to be missed! Still trying to work out how he did the things he did ?! The pool bbq Sunday is fabulous also! Great value for money, so much variety food wise it is a bbq so not the usual menu. The cocktails are delicious on any day you visit, and the wine list is extensive. Cold towels offered throughout day and music by the pool. Bliss. The restaurant is child friendly for food and the pool days. Feels safe and secure for them too. Food choice for children are also above par. Would ensure that you book early as the restaurant is busy at this time of year. We will be returning again for the third year running next year. Cannot recommend enough.
