We've been here before and the attraction to return is vegetarian and fish catapalanas for one. (most places only do catapalanas for two minimum) The restaurant is lovely and the staff fantastic. We had covert, bread, olives, garlic mayo and cheese to start. Nor mains we ordered vegetarian catapalana for two, bacon and chicken kebab with fries and fish catapalana for one which came with pilau rice, or yellow rice. All this along with 2 desserts, a large still water, bottle of rose and three large beers came in at €117.00 which is great value. Thoroughly recommended.

Visited Casa Algarvia on our 5th night of our week long holiday. As a family of 12 (incl 5 young children), we had varied experiences at other restaurants - others either had poor food, service and/or seating. We stumbled across Casa Algarvia as was on the road from our villa and always looked busy from outside and whilst most prefer to sit outside, the inside is actually much more comfortable. Very well decorated , large tables and seating and well air conditioned. We booked our table 2 days in advance which was a must to ensure you can get in. There are so many restaurants in the areas that all serve similar food so finding one that differs can sometimes be hard. From the moment we stepped in, we instantly knew this was going to be a very different experience. Plenty of friendly staff who were attentive and always available when needed. The food and wine was exceptional - not a single complaint for any dish. Price is comparable to most restaurants in the area but when you consider that the food quality, service and ambience makes you feel like you are eating in a high end establishment, you will end up asking why you would want to eat in any other Portuguese restaurant. Of course, we only managed to try 6 restaurants during our stay and whilst there may be many more of similar or better quality, this was by far our favourite. Highly recommend

We are blessed with many global cuisines in Carvoeiro but wherever i travel I still want to taste traditional unfushioned dishes of that nation/region. Casa Algarvia remains that place in an ever changing Carvoeiro. Prawns in garlic, Sardines, Swordfish and catapalana all traditional algarvian dishes at their finest. Great team and the service is spot on and all at very respectable prices.

In 13 years traveling regularly to Portugal for work, the worst cod of my life, stayed on the plate, a dry scourge, the specialty.... Two and a quarter hours to eat, the next table 10 cm away, arrived 40 minutes after us, ordered the same and served them before (it was still ours...). When we asked about our food, I didn’t hear the first time, the second time bad ways shouting that our food was coming and that we were served later because we had ordered incoming (clams). We had finished the clams half an hour ago. Only when we asked for the claim book did they apologize, that's where we left the claim. Luckily it has been the only place of hospitality in Portugal where the service was a disaster (arrogant, slow, disorganized and little considered), the product (cod) bad and worse cooked and the value for money, shameful.

If you are looking for a restaurant completely aimed at tourists, this is the right place. But if you want real typical food, avoid here. Very poor dishes. I tried some Algarvian-style squid that didn't even have any seasoning, and there was very little Algarvian-style squid. Fish Cataplana is made with salmon (since when????). Service also leaves something to be desired. I don't recommend it and I won't go back.

We went to this restaurant for the first time with family and children. We ordered the steak to the Portuguese, which was not wonderful according to other reviews. We asked the dick for a dick, and it was reasonable. The Rib eye was well made and the meat was tender. The service left a little to be desired as some employees were not very attentive. Price/quality was expensive

This has now become one of our 'go to' restaurants in the Algarve - always busy, very reasonably priced and with excellent food and service. This time around I had the tuna special - grilled with a great selection of seasonal vegetables - and my wife chose the cataplana (the only place we've ever found that does this for one) and both were fabulous. Great food, great service, great atmosphere and authentic Portuguese through and through.

Very, very good. Regional cuisine, with special emphasis on fish, very fresh. Tasty entries, we ate a salad in vinagrete and coentros, of black pork feathers that was divine. The pork cataplana is excellent. All dishes very well prepared and in the right quantity. It is not cheap, but compared to others in the same area and the same range, even it is quite affordable, I highlight the sympathy of the lady who received us twice in the same week and whom I forgot to ask the name. For the year I will be there surely heard once.

The place has a terrace and the interior is spacious and comfortable. Food value for money excellent. The seafood cataplana was spectacular. In many restaurants the cataplana serves at least two people and in this you can order it for one person. Correct treatment of staff.

The behavior of the waiter was absolutely unacceptable. He suspended a hot plate in the air and demanded my daughter put her phone down and grab plate from him while she was posting memories on TikTok. This happened on two separate occasions. It's baffling—he is not her father, and as her mother sitting right next to her, I found his authoritarian attitude highly inappropriate. When I asked him to place her food on the table, he did so only after a second request. However, all our dishes were delayed by 30 minutes afterward. Very stubborn, narrow-minded attitude. To be fair, there are many lovely places here in Algarve where the staff is more progressive and doesn't engage in such frivolous behavior as that waiter did.

The premises are certainly good, the place is always full and the menu is interesting. Personally, however, I come out disappointed, dirty place, very greasy and heavy dishes, I wonder if I really ate fish😅. They say it's one of the best in the area but I strongly advise against it.

Casa Algarvia was recommended to us by friends who know the town and restaurant well. We were not disappointed. Firstly we were impressed that on a chilly February night the restaurant was fully booked with a vibrant buzzy atmosphere. Service throughout our meal was friendly and efficient. We all had starters to share and mains which were delicious and well presented. I thoroughly recommend the grilled choriço flambé as a starter, great flavour! Melon with ham was also a popular choice and the portion was huge!! We also chose the cod croquetas. For mains the Angus Rib Eye was cooked to perfection and the star of the show was the pork stuffed with figs. A-MAZ-ING! We were far too well fed to order dessert but what we saw coming out of the kitchen looked very tempting. In summary a great meal in a great restaurant. Thoroughly recommended.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We booked ahead as the restaurant was fully booked when we tried to eat there a few nights before. The menu should cover everyone's tastes. They do fish, pork, chicken, steaks and some vegetarian...not sure about Vegan options. We both had the pate to start which came with bread. I had the three fish dish which was cooked to perfection and very tasty and my husband had a pork dish in a mushroom sauce which he enjoyed. There wasn't much in the way of puddings but I managed a chocolate moose while hubby had a special coffee (Irish coffee). Staff were pleasant and helpful. We chose to sit inside the restaurant on the basis of a reviewer who said it was cooler but the aircon had been switched off that day. It was too hot for me by the time I'd eaten my food, felt a bit panicky if I'm honest. Fortunately they opened the door behind me and that made a huge difference. We would definitely go back to this restaurant as we enjoyed the meal.

Our first night in Carvoeiro was spent at this lovely Portuguese restaurant. We ordered the Red Snapper, which was served grilled with some seasoning, new boiled potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Seriously delicious - the waiter boned the snapper for us at our table. We washed this down with a bottle of local Rose. The service was first class and the ambience in the restaurant was lovely. Not the cheapest meal in Carvoeiro but well worth the little extra expense. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

This place is worth hype! We were in Carvoeiro for 2 weeks last year and some how missed this place. However we went for dinner tonight and the two of us were both very impressed! We went at 6:30 on a Fri. night in February without a reservation but we were able to get a table, by 7:30 the place was full! We started with bread and garlic butter while my husband had the wonderful Piri Piri prawns which came with 2 slices of grilled bread. We had the huge plate Piri Piri chicken with excellent homemade French Fries and the special octopus which came with sautéed greens and delicious soft potatoes. It was all wonderful. They had 4 special fish of the day and a few tapas which looked very interesting, we will be back for sure!
