The seafood is fresh and delicious but what makes this restaurant 5 star is its setting. Without doubt the best dinner view we have enjoyed in Portugal - see the photos! The only downside is that it is expensive, notably more than equivalent restaurants.

Rude / ignorant staff - only one table had people in it - we were told we had to sit in a table in the shade - only in sun if we had food - clearly did not want to bother with customers - try...Praie Grande , so welcoming, great service and foodMore

Arrived at the restaurant for drinks and potentially lunch at a just about empty restaurant only to be told we couldn’t sit outside in the sun unless we ordered food first from a series of blackboards above the bar. In these tough times we found...their attitude somewhat confusing! We obviously left and took our business to a nearby restaurant who couldn’t be happier to see us.More

Oh the flies It would have been 5 star but as soon as food came to the table the flies came too. When the waiter started to filet the fish at the table it was a swarm and they went on the food. Very off-putting...- such a shameMore

Beach is stunning BUT they are spoilt about their location. We came in the week paying €20 for a taxi and loved the beach and we had a few nice drinks. Decided tonight to come for dinner and have a few cocktails, Arrived at 4pm...plenty of empty tables, sadly beach was a right off due to the weather but we were happy to sit in the location and enjoy a meal for the evening. As I approached I had the door closed in my face. When I say a door, I’m talking about a glass door that leads to an OPEN air restaurant.... I assumed he hadn’t seen me so I opened the door only to be shouted out in front of the whole restaurant....there is no sign or instructions to any rules regarding Covid and bear in mind we had masks on !!! You can’t apply Covid rules in an outdoor restaurant without explaining to people what is expected. Needless to say, my husband was so upset with the way I was spoken too, we promptly turned around and got a taxi home. Terrible guy ...the owner should sack him or expect to lose more customersMore

We loved this restaurant. A very extensive fish menu with extra dishes for any that don't like fish and seafood. All the food we had was lovely and in a busy restaurant, we found the staff to be really friendly and very attentive. Covid secure...policies were in place and we felt very safe there. Highly recommended.More

Used the boat transfer service which was fun. Four adults , two boys -two trips!! Staff most welcoming with lots of jokes. Food was excellent and fussy boys well catered for. Sardines were the stars for me.

This restaurant USED to be the most lovely little restaurant overlooking the tiny but gorgeous hidden gem of Praia de Ariffes. My partner grew up in Portugal and has a family home less than half a Km away from this beach and has many happy...memories of this restaurant. Only 4 years ago my other half first introduced me to the Algarve and we went to this restaurant with his family and he has been on many occasions previously with friends staying at the villa. It has always been delightful and I can only assume it has recently changed ownership. The experience today was however very different to normal and not in a good way. We noticed a few things that felt much less ‘relaxed’ about the place in comparison to its usual casual and inviting feel. Firstly, we showed up at quarter to 3 in the afternoon. Given that this is much past the main lunch hour, we assumed we would get a table immediately or at least after a short wait. We have never had to book before as it was always a ‘turn up and be seated’ sort of place. Today we were told we had to wait for approximately 45 minutes for a table. This is fine, that in itself was not an issue. It’s August and a beautiful day, lots of people obviously had the same idea as us. We sat in the small bar area and waited patiently for our table to become available, purchasing drinks in the meantime from the bar. a Coca Cola by the way was €3.50!! Extortionate prices for a captive audience being the only eatery on this tiny beach. 45 minutes later the waiter did not come and find us to tell us our table was ready and we had to enquire as to whether it was now ok to be seated. We were told the table was being cleared. 15 minutes later and a whole hour after we first arrived, we finally sat down, the place was very busy and we were very briefly shown the menu which was on blackboards inside the restaurant and we weren’t even shown to our seats. We sat down after reviewing the menus in what we assumed was our allocated table. The next part is where we couldn’t bring ourselves to order and left the restaurant! We waited another 5 minutes or so for the waiter to come to our table. He wasn’t pleasant and spoke directly to my partner who speaks fluent Portuguese and didn’t even acknowledge my existence at the table! He didn’t ask if we wanted drinks. My partner asked for a mixed salad for myself and a bowl of chips for himself. The waiter starred at my partner and asked him if he was serious!!! I must admit I was in shock at this point. Who speaks to customers like that!? As the waiter if we wish to spend money in the restaurant he should be pleasant and take our order! we were made to feel inadequate for ordering a small amount of food and his attitude suggested he had hoped we would spend more money. Bearing in mind it was now 4pm and the main lunchtime rush was over, I didn’t think for a second that anyone would question our order for salad and chips! We were paying customers and didn’t expect to be spoken to like that. The waiter stormed off so quickly he didn’t even ask us what drinks we wanted. Had he been doing his job properly, he would have asked us what we wanted to drink and we were going to order cocktails which were not cheap at €7 each. Cheap compared to England, however I note not one review on here talks about how amazing the cocktails are to justify the price. Only last night I was served really good cocktails in Armação de Pêra for €4 each! I was so disgusted by the cheek and lack of professionalism and respect on the waiters part that we immediately got up and left despite waiting an hour for a table. Never before have I ever been made to feel belittled for ordering a salad on a hot day and never will I ever again. The staff here are rude and it’s almost as if they are paid some sort of commission based on what food is ordered because the waiter could not have been less interested in serving us and our “small” order. This restaurant is no longer the lovely little quaint beach side place it used to be and that we loved it for. It’s become pretentious and they are obviously only interested in diners who will part with a lot of money for frankly average food. It seemed there were diners who were seated before us, even though they showed up after us with Prada handbags & Valentino sandals. Prioritising those who are likely to spend money! It was obvious! As I said, my partner has a family villa just up the road from this restaurant and for years has recommended it to holiday makers who come and stay at the villa. After today we will however no longer be advertising to guests who come and stay here as I would be mortified to hear that anyone else had a similar experience. Looking through the reviews on here, it seems other people have had a similar rude experience. Thoroughly disappointed especially after having so many years of good service and memories of this place. There are many other gorgeous eateries on the beaches in the Algarve so I wouldn’t bother going here. Go somewhere where you will at the very least be respected as a customer of a small business.More

We had a great meal with a fabulous view, you are literally on the beach (terrace seating) and the surrounding with the beach, rocks, and the sea is overwhelming. We chose the fish at the entrance and was well prepared, although served a third more...of the main course than we ordered *-* We had rosé wine, Monte da Peceguina - very good, probably one of the best Portuguese rosés. Service could improve, wasn't always there. Quite pricy!More

Location and food okay but check your bill! Ask in advance what the weight and cost of the fish is that you select! They cheat with the weight - on your bill you only see the amount, not the weight or price per kilo. I...paid 33 and 35 euro for 2 times 2 prawns - that would mean each prawn would weight 250 gr!More
