We visited while staying in Evora. It was OK. Nice looking restaurant and the owner/waiter was friendly. He is the only one working so he was very busy. The menu is in Portuguese. The owner recommended the fish and the tomato soup. The tomato soup, while well prepared, was not for me. Light broth with bread and you get a... More

Came to this restaurant after checking a few other options. The Rick Steve's recommendation was spot on And we enjoyed the hearty food and wine drawn from the barrels next to our table. Our boys - 15 and 13 - had no trouble finding great options on the menu. Highly recommended !

On the recommendation of our hotel we tried this place for lunch. It has a good selection of traditional Portuguese dishes and we enjoyed our lunch very much. The prices are also very reasonable.

This is one of my reference restaurants in Évora. I've been here from time to time and never been disappointed. I wouldn't say they do prepare my favorite tomato soup, however it is definitely on the top3 (maybe in 2nd place actually...) however here you pay a fair price for such unique food. The wines are mistook of then absolutely... More

On a quiet side street, this little restaurant doesn't need to advertise its existance as, judging by the number of reserved tables on a Thursday evening, is clearly a popular choice which the locals. The house wine is very good and extremely good value. The waiter spoke excellent English and was very helpful in explaining the menu. We had a... More

The restaurant was recommended by the hotel as serving typical Alentajan food and frequented by locals. The food was wonderful, plentiful and very reasonably priced. The server recommended the dishes so that we could share a variety of dishes. The local wine is served right out of the "pipe" of the barrel. We loved everything about it.

A rustic romantic setting in an old barn-type restaurant. Wine is served in cans drawn from one of the wooden barrels lying around. The food is truly traditional Portuguese. Pork, cow, chicken, fish. Honestly made, rough on the edges, no frills. But very tasty. Enjoyed it immensely. Very well recommended,

We have eaten at Adega do Alentejano on a previous trip to Evora and the charm of this small restaurant remains, food is very tasty and reasonably priced the special being tomato soup which is a meal in itself. Red wine can be had straight from the barrel and accompanies the meals well. My wife has an allergy to garlic... More

This is a wonderful local out of the way restaurant. You are waited on by the owner whose red checkered shirt matches the table cloths on the tables. Wine is poured from casks in this cellar like setting. The daily hand written features fish and local food. The food is excellent. My favorite is the tomato soup which easily feeds... More
