We had a very nice meal here

Exactly as it says in the title of the review - we had a very nice meal here and the waiter was welcoming and very helpful from the moment we stepped through the door. He patiently guided us through the choice of dishes and, with his help, we enjoyed a delicious meal. The food is rustic and... read more

We were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed our regional meal. The price was reasonable, ambiance comfortable, and the service was excellent. I started with the egg, bread, and coriander soup (rich chicken broth with a fried egg, cilantro, and big croutons) served very hot from a tureen. Then, roast lamb (2 shanks) and roasted potatoes. Yummy! My husband was disappointed... More

This restaurant is very close to Praça do Giraldo, which should already have prepared me for the worst... The place is nice enough, cool inside and with high ceilings. It's the second time I visited and it was again almost empty. And the reason for that is that the dishes they offer are completely tasteless...we had the "carne de Porco... More

I went there to taste the "javali", i.e. the wild pork. It was the best ever, and for 14 euro it is all worth it. Take care in ordering wine, dessert and so on because the price can grow a lot. Deserves a visit. (Miglior cinghiale mai mangiato. Scegliete "javali" sul menù. Merita una visita)

We arrived in Evora late (8pm-ish) Sunday night without any idea of what would be available and it was a little too dark to just wander, so, with a taxi driver's directions we found this place; which I recognized from my guide book. The street is on a steep incline and the restaurant itself a former (15th century?) wine cellar.... More

During my day trip to Evora, we were given two hours of free time, so I darted around and saw a lot of stuff and then ended up back in the main square by this restaurant. I saw they had a deal for a pork sandwich (very good pork in this part of Portugal) and fries with a drink. So... More

We were directed there by a local magazine. Upon arrival, with free tables, the staff frowned and made us waiting. They are very slowly and not friendly. Clearly they were more interested in serving foreigners! We had the Migas com Carne Porco (Pork meat with mashed bread) and Sopa de Cação (a kind of Fish soup). The bottle of wine... More

We had the Migas com carne porco and roast lamb dishes after trying several other restaurants who were full. The Migas was excellent. The pork fell of the bone and the bread stuffing was very nice. The lamb was also well cooked and also fell of the bone. The atmosphere was a little underwhelming as its a large place and... More

Nice regional alentejano food, not the cheapest nor trendiest, yet worthnthe visit if you want to be sure to taste typical food.
