Had a wonderful lunch here. It's a small place and the tables are a bit on the small side, so it doesn't get a top mark as far as comfort is concerned but the food made up for it. I would gladly go back, maybe...More

Mandatory visit! Won't say anything else - just visit the Merceary, and if you're lucky, reserve a table and enjoy a fusion of the new techniques with the best regional tastes.

It's unusual to find such a trendy eatery in an Alentejo town. It has a great atmosphere and you sit surrounded by racks of wine and attended by young, friendly and enthusiastic staff. The food was excellent with unusual choices but all beautifully cooked and...More

Thank you very much for your lovely review. We know of the táxis problems late night, we do not think to be rewarded for it, we just want to be helpful when it is possible for travelers and also put ourselves in the place of...More

We decided to stop in Estremoz for lunch and this was the place that Tripadvisor indicated for us. We didn't try the wine, but the food is excellent. We had "Nosso Bacalhau", "Bife Da Casa" and "Arroz Cremoso de Cogumelos". The Bacalhau and Bife were...More

Second time we've eaten in this great Estremoz restaurant. The food is excellent, especially the desserts (as good as I've had anywhere) and the wine list is fantastic with a huge range of Alentejo wines in particular.

It was just a last minute lunch engagement that came through, and no place available I was aware of to hold the meeting. A lady at the hotel I was staying at told me about this place, a town where she lived nearby, and I...More

We loved this restaurant so much that we returned the next day! The food is produced with great ingredients and attention to detail. Everything in the menu was great from the delicious lamb croquettes with garlic aiolli to the creative "mille feuilles" made from thin...More

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at this small, simple place. Francis, the chef, is just amazing in her way of re-visiting local recipes: the flavours were always so balanced, but each of them very well perceivable. One dish was just heaven: presa...More

Thank you very much for your lovely review. Just to let you know, the chefs name is Michele and Alberto. And our pastry chef is Gonçalo. We do not have any Francis (laughs). We hope to see you soon. With my best regards, Michele Marques.

The Good: the restaurant is very cozy with a modern decor, the menu has a mix of traditional plates with some revisited versions. The starter (mushrooms) and one of the dishes we selected (lamb) were very good. Part of the staff was extremely nice and...More

Hi, it's a bit uphill. I didn't try walking but it should take about 20 minutes (but I'm not sure). We had our car.
