I like a thatched Pub. Especially one with a long history, adjacent to a village green and serving excellent ale and splendid food. The owner supplied copius doggy treats and was keen to make us as welcome as possible. That does not happen that much in some establishments! I had chicken breast on a risotto. Cider was superb and I... More

We visited the Bell for the first time for a friend’s birthday. We had a walk around Walberswick to work up an appetite and then headed to the pub to warm up – it was ideal! Just what you want for a cosy, fuss-free pub, but with good food and good service. The pub was busy inside and out, but... More

Nick runs a nice house, the ale is served by tap old style. (A little pricy) The food is excellent quite large portions with a good country style menu

The Bell Inn was recommended to us as the best place to eat in Suffolk, so we decided to visit for lunch. We were welcomed and had a lovely main course. For dessert we all had ice cream with mine having to be gluten free. When the ice cream arrived they all had wafers in them. I said that I... More

Regarding your comments above. We have countless GF customers and do take it seriously. You were served that evening by my husband (he remembers it) who apologised and returned your ice cream & wafers to the kitchen to get a replacement. He had not informed the kitchen it should be without wafers as it was for a GF customer. A... More

The Bell is a lovely little pub in Middleton opposite a pretty church. The flowers outside were a picture. We arrived a little late for lunch but the landlord was very accommodating and made us a delicious sandwich. Highly recommended

Anne and I called back to the Bell after many years absence. It is still a great pub. New landlord and one with his feet on the ground. There is a bar menu and items available on the day chalked up on two boards. Anne had the duck and I went for a rib eye steak. Wow, the steak was... More

We were welcomed by a very friendly cheerful landlord . When we asked if our well behaved dog was welcome, he came around from the bar with a handful of dog treats. We both ordered Roast dinners, which were beautiful ,the Yorkshire puddings were enormous ,the beef tasty and plenty of fresh vegetables. The ginger sponge was to die for... More
