Given the circumstances, this being in a museum the eatery is a welcome addition to the point where one can conclude the visit without roaming around in search of a meal. The offer is adequate and the quality varies depending on the selection of foods....Overall the ambient is fine and the staff helpful and efficient.More

Kantina is a nice restaurant made as a part of former military barracks. Good food and drinks are what characterise it. In the same building is a museum of military history. We had a plate of mixed meat, beautifully roasted potatos and salad. One of...the three dessert was an apple strudel which was something special. It was made with olive oil which elevated it on the next level.More

Perfect combination of visiting Military museum and having lunch in this restaurant. Food was really great. Pizza was made as 'old school', as we ate it on the past; a little bit thicker with really tast, tomato sauce.

Wisited the museum a month ago..and had a coffe at this place. But seeing the food they were bringing onto the tables I knew that the first chance we will have we will come and eat here. The atmosphere is incredible..there is a 20mm flak...gun on the bar and you are sitting on empty ammo boxes. The staff is incredibly friendly, willing to help and realy nice. I had a "Farmers lunch"..with potatos, cabbage and baked sausagas. The food was as i had hoped - simple, tasty and pure. No fancy sauces, no ornamentation.. Food, like a good handshake.😋 Gf had the grilled chicken on grilled wegetables..realy tasty and fresh..with still crunchy vegetables..realy nice. After the main course..Štrudel still hot out of the owen..delicious. I dont know about you..but I am sure..the next time im close..im back..for more😊!More

Kantina has a vibe of Pivka - a small town where everybody knows everybody. People are welcoming, food is simple, uncomplicated and very affordable. Differently to the owners other pizzeria (Avio Pub) which is very Italian (thin crust, italian style pizza), Kantina is very much...home cooking type pizzeria. Thick crust, electric oven, but as tiny as they are they still feed two. And some toppings are extraordinary (try Pivka Pizza - has a chicken steak on top - because one of biggest companies in Pivka is a poultry farm). On top of this, it's nicely decorated, homely charm with army memorabilia all over the place. And the restaurant - in the main part of the old Italian army barracks - has a really good over over the valley.More

We visited army museum which is located on the same address. After that I was looking for a place to eat and found good rating just here. I took chicken burger (Pivka is known for chicken) and burger was delicious especially I liked bread. Salad...with chicken was also ok but chicken wasn't salty, pasulj was already a bit could. This is the reason for only 4 points. They have also 2 menus for children. This restaurant has also EV charging station. Staff was nice and friendly.More

This restaurant is incredible. It looks really cozy, you can sit outside or inside, makes you feel comfortable, people are extremely nice, but the food, ah, it blows you away. They have everything, from cassoulets, hamburgers with a bunch of different stuff, pizzas, salads, side...dishes, different types of meat, desserts and daily menus. So everyone can find something for sure, also vegans/vegetarians. To sum up, you have to give it a try, even if you don't visit the museum, it is a place where you just have to stop and eat :)More

We went there after Military museum tour. Originally we were rather sceptical, as restaurants adjacent to tourist attractions are IMHO rather weak and overpriced. But we gave a try. We enjoyed interior army design which included AA gun. Great, fast service, really nice staff. BTW....They immediately brought water for our dog without any request. We ordered local pljeskavica-hamburger in local bun, which was really delicious. Great food, reasonably priced. We would definitely return.More

You know that feel you get being around in a car for several hours that is called hunger? OK, at Kantina they have everything you need to get that feeling happily away 😂 You really don't expect in a war museum, that is awesome by...the way, a restaurant with dishes on a spoon, like we use to say, pizzas....fantastic, tasty, juicy, big burgers, steaks and so on. On a hot day you want to choose a different, beer, a really cold one, they got it...you want good food, they got it too. Did I mention that they are nice? They are!😉 We have been there many times now and we are definitely going back.More
