This looks nothing from the outside and to be honest is just as simple and rustic inside. No frills just great moules. Huge portions and worth a visit if you are close by. People travel from Brussels just to have lunch! Open lunchtimes and then agin from 6pm. Might have to wait for table at peak times but plenty of... More

If you fancy sea food, esp.Mull (mosselen). This is the best place to be. We always order Mosselen with garlic and crime. Restaurant self is smoll, in summer time is hot inside. Need to reaserv place. Not fare from sea side and shopping center. Prize is not that expensive.

I don't regularly visit Ostend but when I do during mussels season, a trip to Kombuis is a real must. The mussels are great quality and well-seasoned, served in portions sized to make you doubt whether there'd still be any mussels left in the sea the morning after. Highly recommended! Some watchouts to manage expectations: (1) Kombuis is not a... More

This restaurant is easy to be found.the atmosphere is relaxed and not high end (they really focus on good food!)Nice place to eat mussels(maybe not so much for other dishes)!we were seated on the ground floor where you can see the chef preparing the food!would recommend it!

We heard about this place a quite ago. Called but it was so busy they didn't answer the phone, so we walk there and got a table reserve for 1 hour later. The place is not attractive at all. Actually if you don't known about it you wont even consider entering as it looks like a friet shop but food... More

Truly unpleasant experience, we came here with some expectations because of trip advisors rating, but we were kinda dissapointed. Unfriendly staff, right after coming, we didnt have reservation and we asked is it is possible to get a table, but the main waitress refused us, then we asked when is the soonest time to get table, and she replied at... We went for the mussels. And discovered a great entrecôte. And frog legs. The mussels were excellent as were the frites. Not pricey and certainly great value!

I went in hoping for a nice dinner with my family, but ended up leaving even before I could finish our ordering. apparently wanting to share your mossels with family is against resto policy and we were asked to order more food basically. Telling your costumers what to order... Thats where I draw the line.

This restaurant is especially very well known to the locals. It's a simple but authentic cuisine, specializing in mussels and in the pan of freshly baked small soles. When you enter it looks like an ordinary friture, but upstairs there is also a room where you can eat quietly. Definitely i can recommend it because it is not expensive at... More
