We were a party of three, with one vegetarian. We took the small discovery menu. One of us had assorted wines, the other was designated driver so no alcohol, and I had two beers. We were all very happy with the experience. At one point there was a mixup and I received the same starter dish. It was quickly corrected.... More

This is the second time I visit to Hertog Jan. My first visit was at the previous restaurant. The new restaurant is very nice atmosphere, nice interior. The food was really amazing. You will have new experience at Hertog Jan.

The good: - I like what they did with the building and the gardens, beautiful combination of old and new - Everybody is friendly and welcoming - The amuses where very good, and expectations were set - The snickers desert The not so good: - We chose the ‘extensive discovery’ with assorted wines, the sommelier told us we could perfectly... The location is stunning, as is the building where they are located. The restaurant area is almost empty, industrial and meagar furnished, no warm ambiance. Overlooking the herbgarden is nice, what's missing is an air conditioning that keeps the whole at a constant comfortable temperature. Reception and the service is correct, friendly and cool, we lacked the passion and customer... More

in a 3 star restaurant where you pay rather a lot, you expect a 3 star service.... keep on dreaming: the personnel has no idea what the ingredients of the food are, 2 times too late with the accompanying wine or was the food too early?, one little cake with the coffee was clearly overdone - this in a 3... On the 5th March me and my boyfriend had lunch at this 3 star Michelin restaurant. I was ready to be blowed away and that was what happened: We were set in a huge round table facing other tables and the garden. Behind us, the bar which made us feel like we were in the away of waters and waitress... More

The complete experience was perfect, venue of great style, young motivated service, great wines, ... and of course the magical dishes of the newest 3 star chef of Belgium. We went for a lunch and did only have 2 hours, so we choose the short discovery with all in formula. Champagne, amuses, 2 starters, 1 main dish, 2 deserts, wine... More

I cannot fault the restaurant at all, it lives up to its three star reputation and the food is very good. It didn't blow me away but I thoroughly enjoyed nonetheless. If you want to go for a classic fine dining experience I think this will fit the bill. We both had the full menu for lunch, and most of... More

we looked very much forward to visit Hertog Jan on Friday 12 th February. Table for 2 in a large open space , not cosy at all, with nasty cheap-looking candles ,my overall impression was to be part of a wedding party, not a glimp of intimacy! We went for the menu " intense beleving " or " intense experience... More

We had lunch at Hertog Jan in Brugge. It was amazing!! The taste, presentation, and service, everything is great. I was so impressed.
