Had a reservation and arrived on time. Nice atmosphere and a good menu that took some questioning as we were looking for some authentic Belgian food. There were a few items that were priced as 3 course meals and one of our party selected the chicken dinner. Two of us selected the beef stew, cooked in Belgian brown beer. I chose the Belgian Fish stew, sometimes called Waterzooi. Everyone was more than pleased. The chicken had some tasty garlic and was perfectly prepared. The beef stew had a nice rich flavor, but the Fish stew was out of this world. Salmon, prawns, cobia and mussels in a cream ( no tomato) sauce with carrots and leeks. Cooked until very rich and full of flavor and topped with a local mild cheese melted on top. We all tried it and begged for the recipe. We didn’t get it in written form but got clear instructions to attempt an evening of duplicating the flavors and the dish. Would definitely get this dish again and we said the same thing to passer byes as we left the restaurant. The apple pie with vanilla ice cream was out guilty pleasure. Again, a home run.

For the meal, we entered randomly, at Arthie's Restaurant. Although the façade of the building is classical, local architecture, the back terrace is quite modern. By tradition, I took the soup of the day and for the second course a Flemish beef stew about which my friend knew it was OK ... and it really was. The food was very good, the beer cold, the service without complains. The interior of the restaurant amazed us with its colors and the way it is decorated. For sure, just by chance, we made a good choice.

Atmosphere was very quiet. Apart from another couple that were ready to leave we were the only people in there. I couldn't figure out what the theme of the restaurant was the decor was beach like and colourful but there was lampshades everywhere! We shared the shrimp Croquettes which were hot and tasty. For the main I had the chicken vol au vent and my boyfriend had the steak. My main wasn't very warm it looked like it had been heated up in the microwave. It was tasty but it didn't look like it was homemade. My partners steak was a little fatty and he did have trouble cutting through it but it wasn't tough or chewy he said it was tasty and he enjoyed it. He had apple pie for dessert Which was full of cinnamon, which he loved. Service was good.

Visited on a Thursday night, it was quite quiet but I don’t know why because the food was lovely!!! We had the ham hock and Flemish beef stew, both of which were very flavourful and filling. Very attentive and quick service. Fully recommend. ⭐️

When you enter, you think what are those three chickens doing at the entrance, the decor is artistic and cheerful, the service is great! A nice card, at nice prices. We had a fish stew (really delicious) and a stew with fries (delicious Belgian); pure flavors, that's what we like. If you like this too, definitely go here. Do you like beer? Then order their own beer, you will be surprised by the glass they pour it in

A few days ago my husband and I decided to try here for lunch after reading all the positive reviews. To say we were disappointed is an under statement. We both like good food at an affordable price so we ordered the roast chicken which came with a side salad and French Fries. The chicken was just OK, the side salad consisted of two small pieces of lettuce, a piece of tomato, cucumber and a spoonful of coleslaw. However, as for the French Fries, they had been fried that much they were rock hard. As this menu seems to be the norm now in most restaurants, you really need to make sure your food is top quality in order to stand out. This was not the case here. Unfortunately, this is not a restaurant I would recommend.

Perfectly kitsch interior while cold and sober exterior. Quality level: starter fried croquettes - exorbitant prices for frozen food at €2 from Colruyt, literally. Bland and industrial dishes, poor quality products. Fortunately fast service. Almost no one in the restaurant. Disappointment overall since we based ourselves on the good rating of the restaurant...

There’s lots of restaurants around the main square in Bruges, but all seem to serve a similar wide range of food. Arthie’s is a short walk away, but has a very different and rather eccentric style. Wildly colourful paintings and an entertaining friendly welcome. The food and wine are also very good. Our choices included an excellent tomato/vegetable soup and prawns in garlic with potato wedges, plus a nice bottle of rose wine. An excellent night out.

Reserved a table as this place does get busy! Returning after such a good meal on a visit pre-covid. We werent let down, the greeting you get coming in is so friendly and the attentiveness of the staff is great, with help on which beer to try. They kept our drinks topped up throughout. We ordered olives and garlic and tomatoe prawns, the taste of both was so tasty we could have had seconds! Mains were half a chicken with 3 sauces, garlic/hot/mayo, the other was Belgiums best beef stew and this was fantastic well worth the wait seeing as id one in Huis in Portsmouth and thought it was ok but there was no comparison, Arthies Stoofvlas was the best! Sorry for the pics they dont do it justice!

Looking for a family lunch in Brugge and took shelter here just before the heavens opened! Sampled their own brown beer in a fetching skull shaped glass and the food was good, catering for the kids well. Recommended!

We just loved this place, eccentrically decorated, it was quiet when we popped in for lunch. Goodness knows why. We had one of the set menus and loved the food. The lasagne was too class. The service was top class and the price was hard to quibble over. Would definitely recommend.

It's been a few years since we came here to eat something. We opted for a 2-course menu. First a shrimp croquette as a starter, followed by a ham for me and steak mushroom for the wife. Everything was very tasty. Staff is very friendly and the service is very smooth. House wine was also great. The only downside to this business is their sanitary facilities, which are in poor condition. In urgent need of renewal. The smell was often noticeable in the restaurant. Too bad, otherwise a big 5/5.

I never walk out of a restaurant even when the service is bad, but we walked out of Arthie’s today. Place was in chaos from the front to the kitchen. Avoid at all costs. Lots and lots of other places to go while visiting Brugge.

We were cold and hungry. The soups were excellent and full of flavor. The service was friendly and helpful. I wised we had more time to enjoy this restaurant.
