Reserved a table as this place does get busy! Returning after such a good meal on a visit pre-covid. We werent let down, the greeting you get coming in is so friendly and the attentiveness of the staff is great, with help on which beer...to try. They kept our drinks topped up throughout. We ordered olives and garlic and tomatoe prawns, the taste of both was so tasty we could have had seconds! Mains were half a chicken with 3 sauces, garlic/hot/mayo, the other was Belgiums best beef stew and this was fantastic well worth the wait seeing as id one in Huis in Portsmouth and thought it was ok but there was no comparison, Arthies Stoofvlas was the best! Sorry for the pics they dont do it justice!More

There’s lots of restaurants around the main square in Bruges, but all seem to serve a similar wide range of food. Arthie’s is a short walk away, but has a very different and rather eccentric style. Wildly colourful paintings and an entertaining friendly welcome. The...food and wine are also very good. Our choices included an excellent tomato/vegetable soup and prawns in garlic with potato wedges, plus a nice bottle of rose wine. An excellent night out.More

We just loved this place, eccentrically decorated, it was quiet when we popped in for lunch. Goodness knows why. We had one of the set menus and loved the food. The lasagne was too class. The service was top class and the price was hard...to quibble over. Would definitely recommend.More

Had a reservation and arrived on time. Nice atmosphere and a good menu that took some questioning as we were looking for some authentic Belgian food. There were a few items that were priced as 3 course meals and one of our party selected the...chicken dinner. Two of us selected the beef stew, cooked in Belgian brown beer. I chose the Belgian Fish stew, sometimes called Waterzooi. Everyone was more than pleased. The chicken had some tasty garlic and was perfectly prepared. The beef stew had a nice rich flavor, but the Fish stew was out of this world. Salmon, prawns, cobia and mussels in a cream ( no tomato) sauce with carrots and leeks. Cooked until very rich and full of flavor and topped with a local mild cheese melted on top. We all tried it and begged for the recipe. We didn’t get it in written form but got clear instructions to attempt an evening of duplicating the flavors and the dish. Would definitely get this dish again and we said the same thing to passer byes as we left the restaurant. The apple pie with vanilla ice cream was out guilty pleasure. Again, a home run.More

Visited on a Thursday night, it was quite quiet but I don’t know why because the food was lovely!!! We had the ham hock and Flemish beef stew, both of which were very flavourful and filling. Very attentive and quick service. Fully recommend. ⭐️

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was very good for the relatively modest cost. I highly recommend.

We had only arrived in Bruges for the weekend and needing something to eat, we ended up deciding to have lunch here. As the restaurant was getting quieter when we arrived, we were seated quickly. Service was slow and it took a bit of time...before our order was taken and then another wait before our drinks arrived. My husband ordered the burger, which he was happy with, I ordered the Chicken Vol au Vent but when it arrived, it didn't look appetising at all. When I tasted it, the chicken was tough and the sauce had a very sour aftertaste. I made the waiter aware that I couldn't eat the vol au vent but he wasn't in the least bit bothered. Thankfully, I was able to eat the salad and chips that came with it. Service was very slow and for a restaurant that was quiet at the time we were there, it was very disappointing. Given that I couldn't eat the vol au vent, there was no reduction on the bill, which was really disappointing. From Tripadvisor reviews, I really don't know how it could be recommended as our experience there was really disappointing.More

Visited on Thursday evening as a group of 12 people who were in Bruges for the weekend I have reviewed this restaurant before and returned again as I enjoyed it previously A large group was catered for really well, all food arrived at the same...time, all piping hot and really tasty - flemish stew, burger, chicken and steak were all eaten and enjoyed Service was excellent - not intrusive but efficient And all at a really reasonable price - would definitely recommend and will return on my next visitMore

We came here on recommendation of our hotel. The atmosphere and decoration is quirky to say the least. Staff were friendly and spoke brilliant English. We went for set menus which weren’t obvious in the menu but great value for money. 3 courses for 20-24€....One of us had ribs and the other Flemish stew and both were large portions and tasty. The tomato and vegetable soup with a slight curried kick was really good and we enjoyed our chocolate themed puddings too.More

We often visit Bruges for short breaks and always eat here. Great location, nice and central, just off the main square. The food is always great, excellent service and much better value than the more touristy restaurants on the square. Very quirky decor, a little...different from the norm. It's not a big restaurant so has a nice personal feel. If you want 3 courses the set menus are fantastic value. Otherwise I recommend the roast chicken with 3 homemade sauces or the ribs. We particularly liked that we didn't feel rushed, even when the restaurant was packed and turning people away, the service is always a nice pace and very attentive.More

We walked in because the restaurant had good reviews. The decor is a bit tacky and a little too bright with too much of lighting. We requested for a light to be switched off but somehow not to be. We ordered Prawns in Garlic sauce,...the chicken menu and some croquets. The prawns were really awesome but somehow the chicken and the croquet had an average taste. The vanilla ice cream with the chocolate sauce was really out of this world. The service was highly friendly and extremely prompt. The average rating comes from the food taste for the chicken menu and the decor.More
