Slightly off main tourist hub and this is reflected in value for money. Ate there for dinner on 30/12, six of us including two children. Two course set menus at 12€ and 14€ soup to start on both and choice of about four mains , 14€ menu includes steak. Food well cooked and very tasty. Service reasonable and friendly. Total... More

A mix up with our order was badly handled by the manager. We'd ordered the set menu (soup, wine, main course and coffee). Difficulties with language meant that we pointed to the set menu and then the steak on list of mains(which was noted on the set menu as costing an extra 2euros and being 200g instead of 20g). Unbeknownst... More

After a rather pleasurable day in Bruges, we were looking for a small quiet place, away from the tourist traps of the main square for a nice meal. Our BnB host, Anne, suggested we get to Sint-Barbe. A short walk into the beautiful back lanes of Brugge and we stumbled upon our destination. Right in the heart of the a... More

We stayed at the restaurant il 16 agosto u.s.Un bit hidden from the bustle of tourism in Brugge is located in a quiet area. The environment is small but hospitable, other places on the upper floor. Excellent price/quality ratio. We recommend it!! Caesar and Gianna-Mira Venezia Italy

There is no shortage of restaurants in Bruges - many of a very good standard, but prices especially for some snacks are not always good value. We were recommended to this restaurant and it was a hidden gem with very good value cf so many others. A great steak, frites and salad with an excellent soup to start - just... More

The service is ok, food is served in a timely fashion, but sometimes by an inexperienced student, but the students are usually so cute that you can easily overlook their flawed performance. The location is good and the food is great. Prices are also great, it's a good deal for your money...and it is ok to ask for tap water... More

Visited with my girlfriend and her family. Yummy, family-run restaurant. Pretty casual and low key, but the food was good. I had fried Dover sole, which came as three small but whole fish that were fried and tasty. Sides were frites and a salad of endives, carrots, and a few other vegetables in a mayonnaise based dressing. Worth a visit... More

Our bnb host suggested this restaurant to us. Wow! What a great little find. Couldn't read the menu as it was in Flemish although the waiters happily translated and spoke perfect English. We actually came here twice as the food was delightful and great value for money. For 12 euros you can have soup and a main which comes with... More

We looked for this restaurant after recommendations from a guide book. It is slightly off the tourist beaten track, north of the main town but easily walkable, on a quiet square overlooking a church. We were not disappointed in the lunch we had. It was top quality food and they were friendly and hospitable to us and our toddler. The... More

Description
This is an excellent lunch stop. Used by locals and great value for money. Unusually for Bruges when you ask for water they offer you tap water!!!! and don't look pained as though you had asked for something illicit. Remember when you got those same looks in the UK??
Definitely a little place to remember.
