I really appreciated how this restaurant had options that differed from the boring norm at the bulk of dull Italian restaurants, that is, usual options like lasagne, carbonara, bolognese etc, and instead had options like taglioni with black truffle, tagliolini with crab meat, octopus etc. I had the truffle tagliolini and it was very nice. The only downside is there is not a great deal on the menu, and would be nice if they added some bread products to the menu or a couple more starters. The restaurant itself was also beautifully decorated and had Italian staff working there.

I went to have dinner here with my girlfriend she had the tagliolinial tartufo and I had the tagliolini al granchio it was to die for, I personally found mine the best which my girlfriend argued. The wine we had was a prize winning wine from Tuscany which was excellent. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bruges!!!

Myself and 9 friends visited Bruges together for the first time after covid. We booked a reservation at Au Gusto and were told after by our walking tour guide that it was a really great restaurant. She was right! The food was stunning. With a small menu to choose from everything was prepared perfectly and you could feel the passion in the food! Across the group we ordered all the mains on the menu. We all were blown away by how tasty our meals were. The chocolate desert also was to die for! The wine which was imported from Italy was perfectly matched to our food. It was smooth and went down very well! The service was wonderful. It was so nice to hear about the life of the owner. She was friendly, open and did everything she could to make sure we enjoyed our experience. All in all this place is a must. The best food and wine we have had in Bruges. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!

Wasn’t even allowed in. We booked online and also called to check if the booking was confirmed of which is was. It was my sister and her fiancés 1 year meal since getting engaged a year before and we were so excited for this restaurant. We spent €10 in the taxi getting there and arrived to find a woman cleaning the floors. We knocked and she came and said that there was a private event on and that they must of missed our booking after confirming it with us twice. She recommended Spinola which was literally all the way back from where we came from and also said they had truffle pasta of which they didn’t. She didn’t apologise or offer to get us a taxi there which would of been the most polite thing to do seeing as it was terrible rain. As I work for a small family business this is what I would of done as it was the restaurants mistake. Anyway, I can’t comment on the food I am sure it is good but maybe confirm your booking 5 times before turning up. Spinola restaurant was a winner, it was absolutely delicious so thank you for recommending.

The food and setting were good, unfortunately, service was poor. On arrival we ordered a bottle of wine, water and a main course each. We waited just about an hour for any of that to arrive and it was actually the food that arrived first. When the food came, we reminded them about the wine and water and were brought the wine. Without prompting, they apologised for the delay and said they would ‘sort it out’ when we came to pay. OK, fair enough. After those mains we ordered a desert. Overall, this took ~2.5 hours. While we weren’t in a particular rush and we appreciate not being pushed out of the door (my partner is Milanese so we spend a fair amount of time in Northern Italian food places) the pace was slow and a bit frustrating. When it came to the bill, not only was no adjustment made for the hour of wait at the beginning, but we were then billed for the water which had never turned up - despite both ordering and reminding them about it. After more asking we were able to get a refund on the water, but by this point we were becoming a bit frustrated at the admin of trying to get our order completed. They were perfectly nice and pleasant, and the food good - if not spectacular - but these niggles in service meant we didn’t have a fantastic time. I probably wouldn’t return.

Passing there in the afternoon, we are asking for a reservation for the same evening. They said please be on time it's important. Being there 5min in advance and 30min waiting in the table nobody come, even to give the menu!!!! The service is disgusting.... When we left an other table was still waiting also from more than 20min. Run away from this restaurant just enjoy the view, that's all it deserved.

We are sorry for the inconvenient but we had a problem : no internet connection which result in a failure of our system to take the order in a full busy terasse. In certain circumstances you should have a little more patience and tolerance.

I used the title tourist trap, because most people will come and eat here only once... The location is perfect, in summer you sit next to the canal, in the sunshine just next to the beautiful Old Saint Johns hospital. The menu is small, usually a good sign, but.. I chose the vegetarian pasta, which was ok, tasty but the portion was really small (cost 21 euro), my husband ordered the salmon, and that is what you get, just one piece of baked salmon, with a piece of lemon en three minuscule pieces of pommes Duchesse, but I wouldn't call it pommes, since there was hardly any potato in there (cost 25 euro). We had to ask for some bread, no butter, no olive oil, no pepper or salt on the table. We decided against the desert which looked like something just taken out of the freezer ( coconut with ice, tartufo or a lemon with ice, nothin homemade for 8 euro, and nothing on the side). The starters looked really poor, parmaham with melon, just some ham on a plate with something that looked like paper thin melon, no fresh melon, or a small burrata with some balsamico on top on a tomato coulis, or tartare of salmon: a small round where the salmon was for a large part replace with apple and onion. Everything looked really poor, and was overpriced for what you get on your plate. It feels like they try to economise to the maximum on their ingredients to earn as much as possible on each plate, but the result is very disappointing. Since most visitors are tourists, they don't need them as return clients... and locals will only eat here once.. What a missed opportunity given their location!

We were a group of 13 in Bruges for a family gathering. We fortunately came across this restaurant which is fairly hidden away, and had the most wonderful meal. After the streets thronging with people, this was a very calm and peaceful setting. We had a table outside right by the water which was lovely. Prosseco, various fruity spritzes and of course Brugse Zot all went down well as the sunset. The owner was so attentive and really looked after us. We had 4 very young children and he kindly made them some special meals and a chocolate desert. The food was very very good, with the Truffle pasta being a huge hit in the group. I had a fantastic gnocci, but had food envy after trying the grilled octopus. Prices were far better than many other standard restaurants around the city so it was great value. We had such a great meal that a few of us returned for lunch the following day before heading home, and enjoyed another great meal. I don’t right reviews but I felt compelled to right this after having such a great family meal here. I am unlikely to be back in Bruges anytime soon, but if I ever return I will be 100% be booking this restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone visiting. Thank you for a great meal!

The ambience was lovely . Food was good in general . Limited , very limited menu . At the time of booking , upon asking for vegetarian food , we were told , it would be available. On reaching we were told only potatoes and tomatoes were available and no other vegetables or vegetarian options .. wine was absolutely awful…. Had an expensive Barolo, which was like vinegar . Paula , the host wasn’t very friendly .

We booked for 14 people celebrating a big birthday and the restaurant were great from the initial booking till the moment we left. We were sat at the back in a great space for a lively crowd and the staff were fabulous at suggesting great wine choices and explaining the food options (we had a few vegetarians and pescatarians in the group and they had plenty of choice). The food was delicious, between the group we tried every dish and all of it was very well received. A big thank you to you all for making a special birthday trip even more enjoyable!

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Au Gusto Wine & Dine during a short trip to Brugge. We particularly loved the pasta dish, tortellini stuffed with mushrooms and topped with shaved truffles. The setting is lovely. We recommend this restaurant highly.

I had an absolutely delightful experience at this charming Italian gem in the heart of Bruges! Nestled near the serene waters, the ambiance was cozy and inviting. The attentive and friendly waitstaff made me feel right at home. The food was a true delight for the senses - authentic Italian flavors that transported me straight to Italy. What sets this place apart is its location in a quiet, non-touristy area, perfect for soaking up the sun while savoring every bite. A true hidden treasure that's definitely worth a visit!

The food and location of this restaurant are excellent. Dinner was served outside on the Riverside terrace. The food was really very nice, capturing all of the classic Italian tastes with a fine dining feel. The wine list is good, although pricey. The service was a little slow for my liking, although this did not have a lasting impact on the experience.

The €18 salmon tartare had no taste whatsoever, and the vitello tonnato had skimped on the capers. The spaghettitone with very small overcooked pieces of lobster was a soggy mass that tasted like ketchup The semifreddo al caffè had not seen the inside of the freezer. The wine was not bad, but half a liter of San Pellegrino at €5 does not indicate good value for money. In short, big disappointment for the high price

Very nice experience! The setting is very pleasant and the atmosphere charming. The dishes are very good and refined. Little choice which is a very good sign. The desserts are a little below what one might expect for their price but remain rather good quality. I recommend !
