On our first day in Bruges we found a pub with outdoor seating in the sun. We started talking to an English couple who recommended the Café Vlissinghe pub. The following day we decided to walk to the Windmills in the glorious sunshine and find the pub on the way back. This pub is a hidden gem in Bruges. It... More

If you're a tourist you have to visit this place, the oldest pub in Bruges with 500 years of trading to 2015. The canal boat tour guides are likely to mention it. And it's a very nice place, inside and in the garden if the weather's nice. Go for lunch rather than dinner; the snack food is good. Beware -... More

We had dinner here our first night in Bruges. Wonderful, wonderful atmosphere. We sat outside even with the light rain, terrace was covered. Warm goat cheese salad was great but the lasagna not so. Wait staff was attentive. Beer was good.

Just a few minutes walk out of the way to this hidden gem. Not many places have their history traced back so far. We enjoyed a couple beers in the beautiful backyard area. Reading the history and then stepping inside to see it all just amazing. Friendly staff, cute friendly dog or two hanging around - definitely worth a visit... More

Beautiful old Tavern less than 10 minutes walk from Grote Markt. Well worth it for the authentic old Tavern and the lovely garden area at the back. Had a lovely lunch and beer in the sunshine here. Large covered area in the garden too in case of bad weather. Worth a detour.

Having just celebrated their 500th(!!) anniversary last year, we found the Herberg Vlissinghe pub to be a bright and refreshing lunch spot on 2 occasions. We visited in June and had lunch on their rear terrace twice. They served the normal (for Belgium) pub grub of simple sandwiches and pasta. Service was prompt and my youngest was eminently entertained by... More

Was told that this is the oldest bar in Bruges - pictures and history on walls would seem to confirm that! Multi occupancy tables inside but lovely garden area as well. The menu is simple but adequate - the beers as usual in Bruges plentiful Only a short along the canal from Markt so give it a try if only... More

Great place to have some drinks with friends. Especially when it's sunny, what a great terrace! Very friendly staff and quite a large choice of drinks available. A hidden gem in Bruges!

This is a wonderful "hidden" cafe/bar, not far from the town center. If you go to Bruge, google it or ask a local for directions. It is WELL WORTH the short walk. Very unassuming for the outside and then WOW! what a treat when you enter. A big plus is the courtyard and the curl bowling that is available in... More
