Lovely restaurant

Had a lovely dinner at the Bistro Brugis. Whilst offering a simple menu the food is very tasty. We had the beef stew and asked for mashed potato instead of fries which they were happy to do. Amazing chocolate mousse for dessert. Lovely friendly staff and a very enjoyable experience.

An absolute Gem of a place!!

We had originally intended to celebrate my wife's 70th Birthday in another very well known restaurant in Bruges, but having read their recent reviews cancelled. Thank Goodness we did since we found Bistro Brugis on line, It is just a gem of a place! Wonderfully attentive staff, kind, welcoming and best of all fantastic food!! Don't miss the Prawns in Himalayan Spices and, if your brave, Eel with Cream Sauce - simply delicious! As I said we celebrated my wife's 70th birthday - the restauirant surprised my wife with a wonderful Brulee Sweet accompanied by indoor Roman Candle and spirited singing of Happy Birthday!! I / we had no idea that they would go to so much trouble - such wonderfully kind people. Thank you Bistro Brugis for making our day so special

Beautiful Lunch

Friendly, welcoming staff. We arrived just before 12 when there was just one other table in the Bistro, however by the time we were leaving it was full - so glad we managed to get in early enough to get a table. The food was hearty and delicious - highly recommend the French Onion Soup on a cold winters day. Lovely relaxed atmosphere - would definitely recommend and return.

Great service, pleasant food

Dined here with family on our last night in brugues. Very friendly, attentive staff, food was fine, but nothing to write home about. I did think it was extremely expensive for what it was. Paid £25 for cod fish in a creamy sauce. Again, it tasted nice, but probably wouldn’t recommend this place to friends as we ate much nicer food for a third of the price on other nights. It’s probably the location of this Resturant, with it being so close to the main square that made it on the more expensive side :)

Foodies Beware!

This is not a restaurant for foodies! The food here was abysmal. My mums sole was so overcooked that it was inedible, and my shimp soup was watery and desparately lacking flavour. Our waiter went out his way to advise us that all the food on the menu was good.. I'd hate to know what he considers a bad meal to be. After advising our waiter that the food was inedible, this was not removed from the bill. Hilarious evening though, as the food was so terrible that we couldn't stop laughing.. and then the bill came in at €109 and we stopped giggling and went for a stiff drink.

The worst experience ever

The worst experience I ever had in my entire life. Came for some drinks with my friends on the terrace and as soon as the rain started we moved inside the restaurant, three different waiting staff asked us if we moved inside and we confirmed, later on to have the surprise that we can only sit inside if we order food, but nobody told us in advance and it put us in such an embarrassing situation telling us that we can’t be there if we don’t order food. Never again!!

What a disappointment !!

After initially welcomed to our table, it seemed to go down hill. Drinks took over 20 mins to arrive and the food arrived after an 1 hour. I wished I could say it was worth the wait. Mash potatoes was cold and crumbled while there was nothing special about the Salmon fish. The wife’s dish was served with the wrong sauce, but certainly didn’t want to wait another hour for replacement. Not once were we ask if everything was ok. Over priced for non fresh prepared meals. Advice would be not to place more people than you can serve just to increase your evenings takings.

Just perfect dinner

Absolutely beautiful food. So fresh, so delicious! I try the fish stew- what can i say… just perfect. My husband tried the steak, again perfectly cooked, the dishes is coming with traditional fries and homemade mayonnaise. The chef is a real treasure, giving such a great vibe coming and having a chat with the guests. That was our last meal in Brugis, but definitely our best one! Pleasant stay and tasty food

Came there for dinner on a Thursdaynight. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, inside as well as outside. The food was delicious (carpaccio as a starter and salmon as main dish). I could easily change the mashed potatoes for chips. There is a good selection of wines available. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very nice decor and very polite and friendly staff. Moderately priced. Very nice steak. Tender and delicious. Glass wine is above average for what you pay. Many options. The traditional mussels were big as portion and quite tasty. Great experience over all

Moules and frites with a Nepalese twist

What a great find this restaurant was! Fantastic food cooked from scratch and impeccable service. I hade the moules and frites with Himalayan spices - The owner, Raju is an ex mountain guide from Nepal and he certainly knows how to blend those subtle spices! Delicious The service from Bhuwan was kind and courteous - Great people, great food and would highly recommend

Great friendly restaurant.

Brilliant little restaurant with the best service I can remember in a long time. Chef came to speak to us and explain his herb butter which was his grandmother’s recipe. So friendly, and great food. Recommend this to anyone.

A good late dining venue

We dropped in when we were rather late in the evening and many restaurants were closing , something to remember in Bruges at this time of year . They managed to fit us in and the food was very good . The Nepalese chef assisted the waiter and he was the life and soul of the party . Do visit only for the entertainment if nothing else .

Four of us dined here on 1st January and were very well satisfied. Whilst the member of staff greeting us was a bit upfront, the rest of evening was excellent. We loved the Moules and Scampi with Himalayan herbs. Also good quality wines at reasonable prices for Bruges. Thoroughly recommend

Good value for money for Bruges

The staff has been friendly and helpful. We ordered chicken curry and salmon. Both were very good. What stands out about the chicken curry is that the sauce comes separately. The salmon was quality. The only downside is that inside the restaurant there was no good ventilation or extraction so we opted to eat on the terrace, a complete success. It cost €25 per person.
