Cute little bakery with upstairs tea room. Good service and tasty treats and drinks. Very central. Took some raisin loaf home and it was delicious and still fresh 3 days later!

Passed by the Aux Merveilleux de Fred pastry stop at Eiermarkt during a recent stay in Bruges and enjoyed their Merveilleux (marvellous) cakes which tasted every bit as good as they have in the past. Shop opening hours are 9am to 6pm daily. The shop...is delightful with classic tearoom like environs. There are a few downstairs tables and upstairs seating as well. They offer other bread and pastry products as well but most come here for their famous Merveilleux (marvellous) cakes which you can purchase them individually (€1.80 take-away, €2.20 Eat In), larger orders are boxed up nicely in take-away boxes for easier transportation back to your hotel. The cakes are delicate and light, there is a fluffy, whipped cream filling resting upon a meringue base and coated with various flavours (nuts, almonds, coffee, chocolate, speculoos, caramel and others). I like to purchase 2 per person so you end up with a variety to try back at your hotel. Really good little pastry to try if you've never tried Aux Merveilleux de Fred before. Well worth saving some stomach space from all the chocolate tasting around Bruges to give them a try.More
Absolutely the best dessert! Don’t miss this little bakery! We had chocolate and white chocolate and both were excellent!
Walking by here and. just popped in. Bought a few of the small versions and fell in love. We went back 2 more times thru out the day and the next day. These Pastries are to die for. I didn't want to leave town because...of this place. Id fly back just to go there, no joke. If your in Brugge go here. A couple reviews had service issues.. Not me. the very sweet ladies we super nice and took the time to go over each flavor and they make a yummy Cappuccino. Go here the minute you arrive in town, its right off the main square, because youll be back many times.!More
I ordered the L'Impensable with my cappuccino. It was totally AWESOME!! If you enjoy desserts, you must visit this place. The decor is very elegant and classy. I ordered the Le Magnifique and L'Impensable to go. The staff members were friendly and professional. The young...gentlemen asked me where I was from when I paid at the cashier. He even told me that there is an Aux Merveilleux de Fred in my city! Thank you!More
Great pastries and lovely service. Stopped here both mornings we were in Bruges. Pain au chocolat was stunning. Great to sit and watch them make the meringue cakes. Everything was really fresh.
Staying in a nearby hotel, we passed and decided to pop in for breakfast. Food was absolutely delicious, pastries, cakes breads etc all cooked in house. The place was spotless and we found staff to be most pleasant. We went again next morning but it...was take away only. Highly recommend this place if you in Bruges.More
This place is very impressive and certainly lures you in with the decor. The pastries and coffees were good but unfortunately when you get one of the staff bring extremely rude and miserable it puts you off ever going again. Shame 🤷♂️
Food was amazing, but I have to say the staff especially the lady who was talking the orders was obnoxious, rude and went over to a colleague and was pointing at us and sniggering at us, this is no way you treat your customers, absolute disgusting...mannersMore
Brioche bun with chocolate and coffee. The brioche is enough for 3-4 people to enjoy. So delicious and fresh. Very nice people here.
When we walked into this beautiful tea room we were amazed at not only the selection of magnificent pastries, cakes and chocolates on show, but the stunning decor and fantastic crystal chandelier over head lighting up said culinary delights. We had a table upstairs by...the window overlooking the street below and had coffees and pastries for a breakfast treat. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, and have great service. If I’m Bruges you need to go!More
Amazing place for afternoon tea and cake. Try the meringue cakes they are so light and tasty and just melt in your mouth. There is a beautiful chandelier and the whole setting is charming.
Everything we ate was over priced, but was tasteless dense and stale. All liked good but tasted awful. Would NOT recommend.
Interesting place. Sure prices are bit higher. Two floor area, with seatings in tea rooms, also workshop place, where we can observe how these sweets are made. Tastes great, for me its too sweet, but still like it. Definitely one of the must stop attractions...in BrugeMore
Way below expectations. The delicious looking cakes tasted pretty bad. Just a sugary lump of cream, no real taste. Coffee was BAD. And service mediocre to bad. Really demotivated staff. When we asked about one specific dessert the waiter just said he doesn't like it...but didnt recommend anything else to take. Come to think, that should have been a clear sign to leave and not order.More
