We ordered 2 lattes and 1 of them had a hair on top. No problem, such things happens and the waiter brings us a new latte without a problem. Few minutes later someone else (manager? Bar personnel?) comes telling us pretty rude there wasn't a...hair on the latte, it was a line in the foam. When I told her my wife has seen it too, she kept saying it wasn't true about the hair. If she wanted to make a point, she could have returned WITH the latte be she didn't, she came to argue without evidence. Little accidents are excusable. Discussion without proof are not.More

We spotted this restaurant opposite the train station in Leuven on the way back to our hotel, off towards on corner of the Martelarenplein square. Plenty of tables inside the door and a bar at the back of the restaurant- off to the right hand...side a wide corridor leading to more tables at the back, we sat here with another couple as the tables were round. Service was quick and the food was cooked very well, I had steak and at €22 a reasonable price, everyone enjoyed their mealMore

During my break at work i decided to have lunch with my coworker at a local restaurtant. We were welcomed in and immediatly guided to a table. After quickly picking a meal and putting my menu down the waiter was already there to take the...order. 16 minutes later there was a delicious steak in front of me and my coworker picked the daily lunch menu (€14). The classical building with modern touches and high ceillings looks really nice. The location is very convienent for those who need to take a train on time. The Kosmopol has made a lot of progress since the new management and I recomment it to anyone.More

After a long and busy day at the Grand Prix we were looking for close to our hotel , where we could enjoy a light bite and some delicious Belgian beer. After a wander around the nearby streets, we realised that many restaurants were closed...and opted for kosmopol. Our expectations were exceeded with a delicious array of bruschetta, topped with ham and smoked salmon and freshly cooked fries accompanied with a couple of wonderful beers. Exactly what we needed. We will definitely go back to try more from the menu when we return.More

Just was served one week old chocolate mousse. The waitress was stupid enough not to remove the date label before she brought it out. When I questioned the quality the response was that it still is perfectly fine as they usually bring it out until...10 days after preparation 😱😱😱😱. So if you want to taste today’s chocolate mousse, you got to come back in 10 days. Good luck with the food. If you get food poisoning, go figure.More

Kosmopol makes the dessert Choco Mousse without cream, this can be kept in the refrigerator for a week and this is conforming Belgian's FASFC, i believe the equivalent of FSA (Food Standards Agency) in the UK, however Kosmopol likes to keep it in the fridge...More

We always come to this place to catch up with friend and have tasty food. Salads, meet, wok... everything is always very tasty. Price is a bit too high. What is also good, restaurant is just 30-40 meters from train station that is perfect for...those who need to go afterwards to Brussels by train. Service here is very good but I don't think management takes care of the staff. Once (in summer) waiter was so overloaded that just passed away in a restaurant :(More

I have been to Kosmopol over 10 times. I keep coming back beause their home-made French fries are to die for! I simply love them! Furthermore, they serve an excellent steak and their chicken salads are also worth giving a try. Besides the great food,...the location is convenient (opposite of Leuven train station). They have a terrace with a lovely view over the square. Super terrace to spend time if the weather is nice. A steak with French fries and vegetables costs about 20 EUR. The day special (salad with crunchy chicken) cost 14 EUR.More

We went with a group of people for lunch, most of us had a burger, tortilla with chicken or salad with goat cheese. The portions sizes are ok and the prices are normal. I dont know if i would go back, maybe i would go...back for a small bite, but for dinner there are lot's of other restaurants in Leuven where they serve better food for the same price.More

Made a detour to Leuvan from Brussels, whilst waiting for my evening Eurostar service. The establishment is very convenient for the rail station. The fish meal was enjoyable, and the waitress was very efficient, pleasant, and clearly very keen to please. I was given a...sweet along with the bill (psychology researchers have found that adding such a "treat" at the end induces a larger tip). They needn't have bothered, because I was sufficiently satisfied to add a generous bonus for the service without any such entreaties. Having read some of the other reviews, my only suggestion for improvement is that they become more dog-friendly!More

Handy opposite Station. Nice ambience and service attentive and fast. A varied menu though might benefit from more simple food options. Food was good but by no means exemplary - vegetables nice and crisp but stooflies under seasoned....the fries under-done and more akin to uk...chips than Belgium fries. Not a bad place but not a posh restaurant either...a nice place to meet friends or take your grandmother.More

Lots of different choices on the menu. Food was good, not great and service was very fast. It's right across the way from the train station so the location is good.

I have been a regular visitor of this place for some time now. I like to atmosphere of this bistro and the dishes are good, with big portions and reasonable prices. I've read a lot of complaints about the service but having been here several...times I've never had bad experiences. The train station is near-by and so is a covered parking lot, making this a great place to meet up with friend. Especially if the weather allows to sit outside. I highly recommend the salads . They also have a decent cocktail menu with several gins.More

Last week we went to this establishment with the intention of having a nice diner. But at the entrance they refused to let us in, because my goddaughter's was accompanied by her assistence dog. We had a discussion, where they even claimed there is no...difference between an assistance- and a pet dog.... In the end, if we would eat something instead of just have a drink, they would consider to allow the dog to guide my goddaughter into the restaurant. By that time, we refused and went to the hotel-restaurant on the other side of the street where we had a warm welcome and no problems what so ever over the presence of our assistence dog. As it should be.More

We ate as a family on a Saturday evening, we were able to sit outside and it was reasonably busy. The service was good, the waitresses are polite and we were offered cheaper specials than a la carte. The food arrived swiftly and portion size...was good. The food was tasty and presented in a typical bistro style. Overall a good experience, however it wasn't cheap, but it was in line with the neighbouring bistros on the square.More
