Yves is very efficient and the place always seems to revolve around him. Very articulate and good at his profession, the service from his staff and food was very good. Well worth a visit, phone seems to be a problem, we turned up and then...pre -booked.More

We had lunch here and it has the best flemish stew I have ever eaten. 100% recommendable. Also the waterzooi was delicious. Nice local beer.

In addition to the enjoyable food the service was excellent ; a lady and gentleman were running front of house (20/11 & 21/11 ) and nothing was too much trouble . They engaged with their customers professionally and personably, giving advice on the dishes that assisted...choice. I particularly liked the advice on beer choices with each dish - which I found to be "spot on".More

Recently I had to move away from Gent because of my work. Frankly, one of the hardest goodbyes was to the local restaurants. This surely being one of them. Lovely fresh terrace in the shade in the summer, lovely and warm place inside during the...winter. Good food, friendly staff, will definitely come back here if I'm ever in Gent again.More

In seven days we ate here three times: once in a group of 65 people, once with six and once with 35. Good food specialities, good service and wonderful timing with a small staff. Because it was so good we went again and organized also...a third setting. Also good for just drinks. Really recommended during a Ghent stay.More

Went there during the Gent festivities. Although we understood that the place was full, we were welcome to get inside and get the table. Unfortunately the courtesies stopped there. The waiter treated us rudely, left twice when taking the order and came back 10 min...late without apologizing. Food took 1 hour to come and was okayish, he threw the card reader at us on the table to pay and asked us to leave soon because needed the table for others!More

If you like dog food and on top being treated like a dog this is the right place for you : never seen waiters like this, very rude and pretending this is funny, I had to calm them down actually, throwing the food on the...table, putting a glass of wine in front of a 12 year old, basically endless mistakes and consistent misbehavior. Had a Belgian stew with fries that were so poor you really wonder where to got this from. I'm sure the worst frietkot beats this place quality wise. This is a total disgrace for the city of Ghent.More

We ate here several times during our week in the city. Family members enjoyed the chicken vol au vent, the stew, the steaks and I enjoyed the cheese croquettes. All meals came with delicious salad and chips. Wide range of beers served and enjoyed too....The waffles were excellent too. Service was exactly as we liked, practical, friendly and efficient from all the three people who served us. Would highly recommend this restaurant.More

Although this is a top notch , gorgeous restaurant we stopped for a beer only This didn’t please the waiter much but the bartender didn’t mind at all. She was so nice and friendly and knowledgeable We ordered a round of drinks but she refused...to let us pay as it was July 4 and she wanted to acknowledge our holiday Simply unbelievable As we left after thanking her profusely she gave us several other bar recommendations Really made for a wonderful, unforgettable memory Waiter still wasn’t to happy thoughMore

This place was recommended to us by my friend, who lives in Gent) and we are very happy that we know about this restaurant now! Since then I recommend it to my friends and tourists! So, the restaurant is in the nice historical building right...in the center of Gent, not far from Beffroi and city Hall. We came before 5, so there were a lot of places to choose. When my friends came there later, it was already really dinner time and they didn’t find the place for them(( Just at the bar. I liked the atmosphere inside. Btw need to say, that the portion of Waterzooi is crazy big, be ready!) also their own beer is so nice and delicious. And I want to say thanks to one of waiter! He was so kind and open. He told us story of the building, gave advices about Flemish food and did jokes (I’ll put picture with him here to say ‘hello’). And decoration of restaurant helps you to feel history of the place and country)) Highly recommendedMore

Ate here twice. An historic old building filled top to bottom with memorabilia. Service the first time was excellent, the second time it was good. The first time we both enjoyed the Ghent Flemish Stew - delicious, very tender chunks of meat served in a...casserole dish to share, with potatoes and salad. The waiter helped us choose a beer to accompany our dinners, and it was great. The second time dining here, my husband chose the Stew again, but I opted for the bratwurst served over a mashed potato mixture that was awesome. Climb the stairs to the toilets to see lots of other eclectic memorabilia.More
