Amazing lunch in Gent!

Super fresh and tasty! We ordered 3 people combo and ate 4 people a lot!!! We could not have eaten a 4 people combo. I’d eat here again!

So good, this is a top place in Ghent for sushi. They just have to work on the cocktails, it's expensive orange juice.

Long wait and bad service

It looked like a good place, not so big or so busy. However then we had to wait for an hour for our food until they told us it would be 5 more minutes. It was obvious they had forgotten us. We complained about it that we had almost left and hoped we would get some kind of discount. Our waitress immediately defended herself and said it was busy. When I told that people who arrived later were already eating and some already finished eating 50 sushi, she was quiet. The food finally arrived, but they had forgotten something already and didn't seem to remember the order. After we had finished and wanted to ask the bill she came to us and rudely told us not to look at then like that (she accused us of looking angrily at then the entire time which wasn't true, albeit ofcourse we were not happy about the long wait and lack of any apology). She started to argue. She insisted it was not their fault but ours. In the end she did offer a personal discount while still saying it was not their mistake for forgetting us. Looking back at the reviews I can agree that the staff is not professional and quality of service is lacking. The food is ok but I have had better quality at other places with staff that was also professional, even places where it was 10 times more busy on a new years eve instead of a November evening... Best to avoid this place if you want to have a good evening!

Sushi is very good and very good value for money. the staff are friendly and accomodating. the restaurant is very cozy and clean and inviting. the entrance can be deceiving as it's from the corner but once you're in, you know you'll enjoy your meal

Great Sushi Boat - Good value

Passing by we noticed some good looking sushi....decided to check it out and had a delicious lunch. The Sushi boat format is great with a wide variety of sushi, and a little sashimi as well. While 45 euros for a sushi boat for 2 people might seem expensive in reality there was enough for four of us and would have been a lot for three and totally stuffed for two of us! So very good value. The sushi was very very good with fresh produce and served well.

Tried different Sushi in Gent. Found this to be the best one The big boat platter offers all you wish for in SUSHI restaurant. Outdoor dining has a good environment and service is appreciable 👍

Price / quality quite unbeatable

The title of this review is my opinion, only based on a short business trip kind of visit. We were really looking for a Japanese restaurant and based on reviews we decided to go for this one. The biggest surprise was the check (see copy). For 2 persons a very decent Japanese meal (only Sashimi) and 2 bottles of Sake, I have to admit that this was very cheap. OK, nothing fancy but for this quality of food, atmosphere and swift service, I can really not complain. And we got Herman Brusselmans and Lena for free that evening. Seeing a young couple like Herman and Lena there, made it even better. And was free of charge. One comment, if you have to go to the bathrooms downstairs, mind your head. Especially if you are 191 cm tall.... Conclusion is very simple, next meeting in Ghent, I will have to try the "boats", but we split up and only 2 went to the Japanese. And I am recommending it, not because my favorite writer was sitting outside (maybe...), but service, food, quality etc, all very ok. Keep up the good work guys.

Best fried sushi and sushiboat

It was our second visit to this sushiplace and we don’t regret it at all. The sushiboat is just amazing and they also have a lot of offers on the website groupon. The sushiboat is packed with delicious sushi and I absolutely love their fried ones. Really recommended between all the sushiplaces in the street. A bonus: it is very clean.

Proper, well executed sushi!

I’ve ordered from Uzume a couple of times now and they are one of the better sushi places in Ghent. Their rolls are definitely made carefully and the nigiri is fresh. There are lots of sushi restaurants in Ghent but this is for sure one to try out!

I ordered via Deliveroo. A portion of edamame wasn’t delivered, so I called the restaurant. They told me they would send it, but nothing ever arrived. Moreover, in the Sashimi Deluxe I ordered there should have been a portion of Maguro Bhutso. Also never delivered. I think it’s unacceptable to pay for something you won’t even eat - extremely unprofessional service. I’m really disappointed and I won’t order from this place again.
