This unpretentious small restaurant has its devoted regulars, as well as the tourists who stumble upon it when they alight from the tram. It offers five soups each day and the soup menu changes weekly. The sandwich menu looked interesting, too. I had a chicken-coconut-curry...soup with their homemade bread, which is fabulous. The coffee was good, too. The staff were charming and helpful, and their excellent English put me to shame.More

I guess as most of us we dropped in at soup'R for a quick afternoon lunch. Admittably, it is a great concept; you get in, you directly order at the counter, you get to your table, wait five minutes, get your soup, eat, and go....They have nailed down a concept that allows for - quick order times - self service drinks - self service pickup of food - no long waiting time to get a place to sit (as everyone eats their soup and then leaves again) - no long waiting time to get your meal - not too many waiters (as it is mostly self-service, except for pouring the soup) - an OK price So yes, would go here again!More

Alighting from tram 1 on Sint-Niklaasstraat in the centre we came upon this small soup and sandwich joint – twelve octagonal tables, a banquette and stools – almost next to the tram stop. It looked bright and cosy and seemed like the ideal place for...a light lunch. The blackboard behind the counter offered a choice of seven hearty soups in three sizes (small, medium and large). We opted for a medium carrot soup with coconut milk and ginger. Yummy! The soup was served with three slices of excellent bread and butter. Coffee was also very good. Prices at Soup'R are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The loos are spotless, which is always a bonus.More

Very nice find in the hearth of the center sligthly off from the beaten track. Cosy place with a great selection of fresh soups as well as salads and sandwiches. Friendly on top. Recommendable for a nice quick lunch.

Really great soup in a variety of flavours so my sometimes fussy children were all able to enjoy the soup and bread. All made with fresh vegetables. Much nicer than I could have made myself. Really helpful staff.

Omg the tomato soup is to die for! As was the Thai red curry soup and the chicken noodle. We also had the chicken curry and Apple carrot salad sandwich, steak sandwich and humour sandwich, all freshly prepared. Reasonably priced and gorgeous.

What’s better than a nice warm soup? A nice warm soup when the weather’s cold! Although there’s always a queue and the inside’s usually full, the queue moves super fast and you can sit outside to enjoy your little soup. Nice friendly people at the...counter as well, though you can only pay by cash here. Recommended for a quick meal!More

The only reason not to give 5 starts is that the place is small and tables are hard to get. A good choice of soups and sandwitches. Manager speaks perfect English. Just wish there were more seating space, but maybe dont visit between noon and...1:30 if possible. We had the excellent pasta soup.More
