Nice Italian family restaurant, where you feel welcome even though the restaurant is crowded with customers. Very good pizza and a fantastic grappa!

Been coming here for a while now and I have to be honest, this restaurant never disappoints. The pizza's are one of the best (if not the best) I've ever eaten. And that's not all, on top of the amazing food, the atmosphere is great!...The waiter Domenico is sooo friendly. You won't regret dining here.More
We visited here one night during our stay in Ghent. It in a residential area so a bit off the beaten track but certainly worth a visit. I would recommend booking ahead as the restaurant is quite busy- lots of locals. We only had a...main course of pasta but it was delicious, freshly cooked and plentiful. The service is very Italian and friendly. The gave us a complimentary limoncello at the end of our meal. Thank youMore
The food is disaster. Expected nice meal - came expecially to Ghent on the way to Dunkirk, after reading all these nice reviews. Total disappointment: food not good and made me feeling bad, service quite nice, although not Italian style at all. Don’t really understand...all theses good reviews.More
Wonderful Italian restaurant, offering typical Italian dishes (some of them specifically from Puglia). The place is owned and run by a very Italian family. Recommend for when you feel like having Italian food - but book a table in advance!
I was there with a friend and although it's a smaller restaurant, the food was absolutely great. The waiter(s) were extremely friendly. The price was certainly "value for money". I will definitely go back there when I am in the surroundings of Ghent.
I went there with my friends. The food was really food and tasty. I think you should give it a try omce you're in the city.
I dropped in here on a Wednesday evening and it was very busy. I had mussels that were fat and delicious as starter. Then seafood pizza as main. Even more delicious! Staff were very friendly. Very good restaurant!
I try to visit at least once a month. They serve the best pizza in Belgium!!! Very nice staff, very friendly. The ratio price/quality is excellent.
Although we've been here a few times "en famille", my first review for this please is from my last visit, a business lunch. The place was half full and we got a separated table in the back. The waiter and the chef recognised us and...came to say hello at the table, as they do with several of the other guests. We shared a simple pizza Margherita as a starter (there were 3 of us), and afterwards we all took pasta dishes. My spaghetti Lupara was amazing. It is my favourite dish. I've only tried the pasta dishes at Vivia La Puglia. I've never been disappointed. We took a reasonably priced bottle of wine from the menu, as I can agree with other reviews that the house wine just doesn't cut it. The service is always friendly. It can get a bit slower when packed, but normally the family comes to rescue on those occasions. This is not the most cosy place though, but you'll always enjoy a good no nonsense lunch or dinner here.More
Friendly staff, great food and all reasonably priced. what more does one need ! Great place for the locals and some lost tourists
Viva la puglia is a family Italian, I guess. It's outside the city center (count on a fifteen to twenty minute walk from the Belfry for example, but you could take the tram of course) in a street you wouldn't really go look for a...restaurant. Let alone that you would expect to have to make reservations for one. Still, making reservations here is the smart thing to do. We visited on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. It's a small restaurant, a medium-sized house converted to a restaurant really and it's packed with tables. So quite loud when it's full, but not annoyingly so. We were there with a group of six, including two kids and the experience was great from start to finish. My kids are well-behaved in restaurants but even so I've been to places where they are either mistrusted or neglected. Here, they got taken care of perfectly. As were we. Very friendly service from everyone, attentive and genuinely friendly. The food is simple, good Italian food. Don't expect anything fancy, but everything we ordered was perfect. I had the lasagna, and it was probably the best lasagna I've eaten in years. Given that the price is also very reasonable (to say the least), this is definitely a place where they'll see us again.More
Small restaurant outside center. Basic interior, friendly service. Limited menu with daily fresh options. Very quick service. Small wine menu, lower class. Well prepared food, no nonsense. Take away available
Although this Italian restaurant is not situated in the historic center of the city, you really do have to make a reservation to be sure you can eat there. We had dinner with 10 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was fully booked. We took...an antipasta for 6 as a starter. Very good choice and really good quality! Then we all took a different main course, and again everybody at our table was more than satisfied. AND ... we never had to wait long and all main courses were served approximately at the same time. We have been there already several times and will definitely be back again. Very good value for money.More
Bruscetta as a starter was no good idea, I liked it but could do the same at home with packages from the groceries. I don't believe the Tuna paste was home made. The Carpacio from my friend was very good so I would recommend taking...this one as a starter. I ordered a glass of white house wine which was not tastefull at all - or it was already open too long, or it was of a poor quality. The pizza was ok, the pasta on other tables looked good as well. The waiter was very friendly, the waitress was rude. It's strange to see there is such a big difference of service within the same restaurant (and probably same family). I was not hungry anymore when leaving the restaurant, I liked the pizza but was dissapointed on the wine and bruscettas!More
