This is a quite cozy place on 2 floors suitable also for groups. Food is just ordinary. I asked for a filet medium cooking but arrived well done. Not even sure it was a filet. Desserts was nothing special. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Nice restaurant with really nice steaks. I shared a "Côte à l’os" with my dad. Massive piece of perfectly cooked on the bone steak. They also have a lovey terrace which must be great in the summer.

De Acht Zaligheden (The 8 Beatitudes) refers to the carved stone plaques on the wall a little further along the street. It's a lovely restaurant, with wonderful moulded glass chandeliers and the main room overlooks the river/canal. We both had a salad of scampi (proper Dublin Bay prawns, cooked in butter and garlic) with mango slices, bean sprouts, mixed leaves... More

Whenever I'm in Gent, I always visit the restaurant at least once a month. The strength of this restaurant lies in the combination of offering a different menu every month, which gives you 3 choices per course, which can be combined as anyone of your company likes - and this for a very reasonable price. So if you're 3 people,... More

a group of 17of us , in the upstairs private dinning room, a good meal if not exactly special, the staff were friendly and helpful even judging the best kilt and offering a prize of a large whisky.

I had the scampis which were swimming in a sauce I couldn't describe as different tastes were mixed; the dessert was a lot on the plate, but the apple cake was not fully baked. Not the best experience unfortunately...

Totally Impressed :D After a long walk around this neat and pretty city n found that Amadeus was closed, our choice went to De Acht Zaligheden in Petershol Area. We got a window seat at this cozy and beautiful furnished restaurant. Our little boy got a nice Kinder Steak n we both got the stunning 3 Course Lunch Menu- Great... More

had the dinner menu for 35 euro with wine. salmon, osso buco with rice and irish coffee Food was pretty much basic which i think most people who can cook at home themselves. The rice was soaked in the sauce of the Osso buco and therefore making the dish look like a porridge wish is a shame Also, the restaurant... More

Delicious traditional wolffish stew, prices similar to elsewhere but food of a higher standard. Very friendly and helpful waitress - we will definitely return!

(review based on a visit with a group of over 100 people!) First of all: this place is bigger then it looks on the outside and it has a beautifull terrace that 'hovers' the river behind it. As our group (of over 100 people!) was seated the service weant quite fast and looked to run very smooth. Overall; good tasting... More
