We had an amazing set menu meal at Karel de Stoute last week. Easy booking, welcoming staff and fabulous food. Highly recommended !!
nicely decorated restaurant, very friendly staff, excellent food and wine pairing. Dinner menu was fixed, you can only choose between meat or fish and which drinks to have (ie, soft or alcoholic).
The restaurant is a bit hidden in Patershol, Gent. But it's worth te visit. Nice clean restaurant. We took the lunch: two courses for 30 euro. Wine included: 12 euro. Delicious, surprising dishes and outstanding presentation.
Nice restaurant with friendly people serving you excellent food. nice interior + friendly staff + nice food. What moe can you want on a trip to Ghent
This place is without a doubt the best place to eat, that is from all the places I have been to. I have been to this restaurant several times and each time it was fantastic. The menu is a set and sometimes I wonder if...I would actually like what is on offer, silly me everything is outstanding. Of course great restaurants in Ghent are not cheap, this is no exception. However, I can’t wait for my next visit. Book early as it is very popular.More
Booked a table for two, and I can only state that, from the moment of entering the restaurant, this was a wonderful experience. A very great welcome, swift and oh so kind service, but above all, what a great tasting adventure, such nice and different...aromas, and this combined with fantastic wines. For me, by far, the best restaurant in town. And, honnestly, it already starts when entering this very old neighborhood. You can feel that it will be a great evening... Enjoy!More
Just a few words: Very honest kitchen !! Thomas is the best ‘restaurateur’ in town. His combinations in taste, color and structure are unique...
It's good restaurant to visit in gent food is delicious and services is good need more organize but okay
We had the 7 course meal which was fantastic. Nice stylish restaurant with a great host and sommelier. You should try it!
A very basic but high quality menu, you get the choice of extending the three main courses to five, which we did, and left very content. Especially with the additional wine pairings. The restaurant is exceptionally well run, the food is fantastic, and I thoroughly...enjoyed my experience. Highlights for me were the langoustine ravioli and lemon sorbet tart.More
And you’ll be amazed. Very impressive. Can’t say otherwise. We went for tje 5 course meal and were bloewn away. Very good! Nice wines on the side. Great service. What else can you ask for in a beautiful city.
We stumbled upon this fancy restaurant and the originality of the cuisine surprised us very much. What they do with poatoes, carrots and root vegetables and fish and seafood are truly amazing.
We went there following a spur of the moment decision... We wanted to east some good food... You have the choice between a three, four or five course meal. There were four of us and we all opted for the five course meal. We were...charmed and surprised by a very varied choice of small dishes, each more delicious than the next. Macrel, ray wing, barn poultry, winter cod, duck, caramel.. all served with really wonderful and surprising accompaniments... Service was impeccable. Highly recommended.More
We enjoyed a very pleasant evening at Karel de Stoute together with my partner. The quality of the ingredients that they use is without any doubt excellent and we were served several dishes with fish. The only combination that was not on our taste was...the starter made of a carpaccio of scalops with a pate from chicken and red beet sorbet. We found too many different strong flavors to be combined in one dish, but that's just us. All in all excellent food and atmosphere.More
