Looked at tripadvisor, originally going all out for seafood type, however, not all our party wanted fish. So went for a mix of options, and opted for Valentijin. Pre booked from England as we know good restaurants in Ghent are difficult to access. Very good food and wines. Service quite good as well. Downside not for us but possibly others... More

Small cozy restaurant in the old city centre. Easy to find. Only a few choices on the menu but when it is of high quality that is only good. Accompanied by good wines we had a delightful evening.

Like many other restaurants in the center of Ghent, also this one is located in a historic monument. Downstairs, there are only four tables and upstairs also a handful. The menu of the day varies, but offers four courses for € 35. For € 20 extra you have a glass of wine with every course. Good value! We enjoyed the... More

Four of us went to the Patershol section of Ghent expecting to go to one of 2 restaurants but they were both closed so we found Valentijn and the menu looked interesting. We went in and had great meals my Duck Breast & Waterzooi, a kind of fish stew. They were both outstanding. The service, bread & munchies were great... More

We asked our hotel to book a table at this restaurant based on the recommendation on their blog and the positive trip advisor reviews. It is small and beautifully decorated. Just one lady serving but she was helpful and efficient. Although they do have an a la carts menu the main event is the 4 course set menu which you... More

When someone has managed to arrange a beautiful setting, provide professional service and prepare the best ingredients in an appetising way, they deserve the time it takes to write a review. We visited this restaurant and were so glad. Complimentary pork pate/olives and a beautiful bread bun. Followed by Hare compote and beetroot. More beautiful bread. A magnificent pea soup... More

As we were exploring Ghent we were keeping an eye out for somewhere to eat the following night and we stumbled across this lovely little restaurant, such a pretty place. Small menu but delicious food.

While wandering around near the city center we came upon this restaurant and decided to try it out. It's small but cozy. The name translates to valentine so the decor is romantic. It is run by a couple who used to be married. He cooks and the former wife deals with the customers. She was the only one waiting on... More

Gent was very crowed the weekend we visited. The restaurant where would have liked to eat was fully booked. On a recommendation by an other guest we booked a table with Valentijn. Plus: good food and plenty of wine (your glass is never empty) But this has also a downside. We had fish so we drank white wine.. so there... More
