We thought we would be fine to eat here mid week without booking, which was a mistake! Although they were completely full they said we could eat sitting at the bar which we did. The staff were nice and friendly, and they took the trouble to talk us through all the dishes on the menu. We really liked the atmosphere,... More
There is no menu. Available dishes are written on the wall. It was not very clear if there were starters and main courses but in the end the thing is that you don't eat a starter in this restaurant. They do have lovely small bites to accompany the drinks (with some cold cuts). Service is very laid-back, almost amateuristic I... More
Went here for dinner with a friend and absolutely loved it! They only have suggestions on the menu, ensuring that everything is original and fresh. The food was nothing fancy but tasted amazing! Prices are very reasonable and portions are perfect! The place is decorated very cosy! Not the type of restaurant you take an important customer to for a... More
I have been there three times now and I am sure I will go back again. The food never disappoints and you are always up for something new as their menu always changes. They have an ecologic mindset and very good recommendations concerning beers and wine. Love the setting, the service, the food, the desserts... a must go to!
We had a great night in Het Gouden hoofd. Real good food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Besides all that the music was non standard and very good.
Following up on a recommendation from Tom De Wolf owner of the B & B Bed in Gent we booked table for two at Het Gouden Hoofd. His recommendation was spot on as not only was the food very tasty all the dishes were also well presented and the service was first class. The two male and one female members... More
Not a very large menu but alway's with that little touch which makes it special. A former slaughterhouse nicely refurbished as a cosy place to eat near the centre ogf the city
In a street where you should not even expect a restaurant in a quiet part of Ghent, you can find this café-restaurant. Nice setting, industrial look and no-nonsense service. Collection of gins and beers and at lunch only one plate, although with a vegetarian alternative. Decent food with a very correct price. Nice discovery !
I visited this restaurant on a tuesday night. It has a homely feel about it and was not too crowded. The waiters are very friendly and are happy to help you make your choice. I ordered a home made iced tea that left me wanting something more flavourful. Then I had the homemade lemonade that had some more body which... More
