Was a funny evening in Ghent. I Dined at the Martino for the first time in about 3 years. Again a fantastic meal at a good price! Was served by Pascaline who was a joy to both myself and French girlfriend - whose father is Pascal ironically. Would really recommend this resto to locals who haven't been or to anyone... More

OK, the food is good. Yes the service is exactly what it should be. but why would you go to Martino? Because it's MARTINO. The famous (in Belgium) sandwich is named after this place. It's a family owned pure Ghent business. The Cheese Egg burger is just unique. Pascaline (the owner) is the nicest person you will ever meet. If... More

It was recommended by a shop owner, and we were not disappointed. Food was good, service was friendly.

You can't just have drinks at Martinos. Even at the bar. You need to order some food too. The food is OK. The drinks are good. The best thing about Martino is that it's open until late - compared to most other restaurants in Ghent that is. So for those of us who don't want to just sit in one... More

Martino has been here of over 2 decades, and it's quite unique in it's genre for Ghent. You get what you expect, and it's delicious. Pity that the owner is only selectively friendly and nice. When I visit with my friends, it depends on who I'd bring. And I've witnessed downright awful and even aggressive service at one corner of... More

If you were born, raised, studied or lived in Ghent, you are familiar with Martino, the spot where the famous sandwich Martino was invented. Now changed to a restaurant with traditional dishes but the place still make me remember my early students student days, when it was simple sandwich bar. It offered traditional dishes like Steak Martino or Cheese Egg... More

Th best place for a great steak in the late evening. When everything else is closed and you want a great piece of meat in a nice setting, go there. Open until 1 AM. The people you see there are cool and often 'work' in the neighbourhood and everyone is relax there. You can also spot famous people from Ghent... More

Do not recommend. We had a bacon and egg burger that came with no buns(not a real burger!), meat patty was bad quality and well overpriced compared to other real burgers in Gent. And a meatball in sauce dish, not really good either. Prices are expensive compared to other brasseries in Gent. Food doesn't even compare. Had to pay to... More

Being customers of the 'old' Martino we have discovered the new version. We've been there four times and except nostalgia we also found very tasty food (the tartar is the best with a 'twist' we ever ate), a pleasant service, nice atmosphere and good wines. Was a classic in Ghent and is one again in the reborn version!
