We ate here twice in a short stay in Liege and had the local special of meatballs on the first visit; these were very good and plenty filling - you are able to order 1, 2 or 3 meatballs in a rich sauce with chips...(not thin fries) and a nice bit of accompanying salad. On our second visit we had eaten enough food in rich sauces and went for the house burger which was again very good (proper bun, not brioche) together with chips, salad and a beer by the name of La Chouffe that went down very well. If you are put off a bit by the purple/pink look of the place in online images don't be, its worth a least one visit and this fifty something did not feel out of place.More

Very much enjoyed the meal of steak and salid- definitely a place to revisit. The green pepper source was a great addition to the also excellent three standard sources that arrived with the meal

We had an early dinner in this restaurant with a friend. The food was really good and staff pleasant. The restaurant is part of the Hotel Univers -where I had stayed in the past. As a traveller, the free wifi was super fast and very...convenient to catch up on emails etc. The proximity to the train station- 4 minutes walk- is also a plus.More

Boulet à la liégeoise - as the name suggests, it's the ball in the Liege...The city's original dish. I was in town on business just for a half day, stopped here for lunch. What else could I have when a server said this is the...traditional dish from Liege. I am all about trying local food whenever possible. Server spoke some English, mostly French. I ordered a bottle of still water, she served a glass with ice cubes in it. It was actually the first time anyone served ice in a cup when I ordered still water in Europe. I was getting used to have water without ice by then, I didn't know what to do with ice (it was cold outside on the day I visited). I think she didn't know how to ask if I wanted ice with my water in English, so I think she just assumed all American wants ice with drink? I really didn't want ice but yet I didn't know how to ask her politely to take back the ice in French. Boulets Liegeois was actually very good, and I enjoy my lunch very much. It was served with fries. Meatball was soft and melts in my mouth good. I never had a liege ball before and I don't have anything to compare against but what they served was very good, I wished for their recipe. Restaurant inside including bathroom was clean. They have nice patio, I thought it would have been nice to sit outside on a warm sunny day. While I was searching how to spell this dish correctly online, I found this... I didn't scream as I ate but when I saw this article, it was a moment I realized I have so much to learn about this region. `````````` Afin de profiter pleinement de toutes les saveurs de ce plat somptueux, invitez vos convives à pousser, avec vous, de temps à autre, au long du repas, le cri de ralliement de la Confrérie : Gay, Gay, Gay ... Boulet !!! ~~~~~~ Enjoy the ball and say, "Gay, Gay, Gay ... Boulet !!! "More

The staff is frendly, the food and prices are ok. It´s a nice place to have a meal if you don't want to go very far from the Hotel and Train Station
