We went there today for motherday. We had a marvelous time, great food, sympathic, african style. Don't hesitate, just go there. A place to be, definitely. We'll be back

The Rue Roture is a small lane which we found on an evening stroll while looking for somewhere to eat. I don't have much knowledge of African Food so was keen to try some. We spent a lovely evening in the pleasant rear garden with cocktails and a tasty selection of acras and pastels (African savoury fritters). The grilled goat and crab gratin were equally well prepared. Sadly we were too full for dessert. Service was friendly and helpful for 2 newbies. I would have loved to visit again to taste some more dishes.

Superb African menu. Incredible flavors and choices. All dishes use African spices and vegetables where appropriate with a distinct Belgian influence. Several countries were represented in the menu choices.

I don't know how to put 0 so it's 1 I advise against!!! You can remove African cuisine from your menu because it is a disaster! Direct I told my husband they must be Caribbean or something! And when I see the comments it confirms! I took away they got my order wrong! Not the number of samusa ordered banana damn let's not talk about it it's not banana damn!!! in addition it's dry! the samusa the overcooked ground meat c is dry without flavor let's not talk about overcooked rice. On the phone they tell me at home there are flavors! They're messing with us. Nothing. It's bland, disgusting. You can't make a kitchen that's not home. First time and last time use 48 euros to be so disappointed

Very, very good food. Must advise you to try the starters (entree) as those are very refined. What I like is that they do not try to serve one countries food but take the best of what west-Africa has to offer and make surprising good combinations with sweet potato fries, baked plantains and other unusual sides. Havn't tried the deserts, as I had no more room. They offer very good wines- worth their investment ;) We had a little bit of live music that was nice and not so loud you could not speak. Only negative thing I have to say is that after sitting there for a while I was wanting for a slightly more comfortable chair. Definitely worth your time and money (not that expensive!) P.S.: Matisse is situated in a small street with a cozy yard if it is warm enough to sit outside. It also has a lovely coctail/tapas bar quite close to it and a live-club practically across which regularly has up[coming bands playing.

I just went to have dinner at Metisse, in Liege, and it was an excellent experience! I had never had Senegalese food before, and I would recommend it to anyone. Besides Senegalese, we also tried some of the other specialties from other "exotic" places... Find out more in our blog borntobegreedy...

Had a really nice dinner here in august. The place looks rather simple from the outside, but is actually quite big inside. A large terrace is situated in the back where you can eat outside. We had splendid weather and ate outside. The menu holds all sorts of exotic food from the Ivory coast region. I had meatballs in peanut-sauce; surprising and delicious! Also the meals of my wife and our friends were excellent. If you like a little bit of culinary adventure I can really recommend this restaurant.

Home:10/10 Fish dish:10/10 Service:10/10 Value for Award: 10/10 Variety of products: 10/10 It is always better to book in advance, given its success this beautiful little corner that will make you travel to Senegal through its specialties. The mistress of the house welcomes you warmly. It was a beautiful discovery, for sure!👌 Senegalese and Latin cuisine, you could be pleasantly surprised as was the case for me. Awards are affordable and the freshness of the products will not leave you indifferent.

More than 50 minutes to have two dishes simmered is just unbelievable, especially since after we went to the show. Finally we only had 1/4 hour to eat, pay and make a little pee. Horrible!!!

Our last visit was in 2021, when it wasn't great. But as in the past we had eaten well. We decided to go back, big mistake. I am sitting at a table facing the front window, the walls are worn, a large blackened silicone seal from the window is right in front of my eyes, there is still a light garland, from the end of year celebrations, hanging in front of the window where there are still at least 5 or 6 working lamps. On the table a rigid corrugated placemat which does not allow you to place the glass of wine. The card is a triptych that is falling apart where certain prices are crossed out with a marker. In short, I tell myself that I shouldn't have come back. The Creole shrimp starter, which turned into a skewer of 3 prawns threaded on a wooden pick larger than them, accompanied by a little raw vegetables. The dish is too spicy like my wife's owl. The presentation of the dishes is ordinary and uninteresting. The dish is an Argentinian beef steak accompanied by 2 sauces (which I think come directly from an industrial pot) and some sweet potato fries. Presentation of the plate without interest. The requested rare steak is served medium rare, the cooking of the steak is pan-fried and finished in the microwave, which gives it a texture and a look of a compact block. Strangely we were asked to eat the starter and the main course with the same cutlery??? The same goes for the wine glasses, have we gone from the white wine of the starter to the red wine of the main course with the same glass? The red wine list now consists of either wine by the pitcher or a Malbec There now it's on we'll never come back

We went with friends (6 people) this Wednesday October 25 to this restaurant. We spent a wonderful evening there and were able to appreciate the flavors of this exotic cuisine... Very spicy Creole shrimp, lamb Colombo, grilled goat's cheese, Accras and their various accompaniments delighted the taste buds of our table.... for a more than reasonable addition... With a warm welcome, it is certain that we will come back to visit this restaurant soon.
