A landmark French style bistro/restaurant in Charleroi, it looks a bit tired when entering; plastic covers on the tables and random Sky Radio type music. But don't let the first impressions fool you, the Chef/Proprietor, originally from Montpellier but more than half a century in...this restaurant, knows his trade. The house wines are very decent and the grilled Cabaillaud (Cod) prepared with just a bit of oil to allow an unfiltered experience of the flavour of the fish itself, was excellent. Dito for the (large!) entrecote, perfectly prepared the way I like it best, saignant, accompanied by very tasty potatoes and grilled veggies. The passion of the head chef clearly noticeable when we talked about the food. Highly recommended.More

Just 50 years old restaurant and most probably the best one in Charleroi: only first quality well prepared fresh products served with a smile and the wish to make you happy! It is definitively not the most sophisticated cuisine, but surely the best one to...enjoy the real taste of the best products. The decor is almost the same that the one 50 years ago, but confortable and with the ambiance you may expect to enjoy your tasty meal. Very friendly staff, almost the same from the beginning 50 years ago...Surely my first choice restaurant in Charleroi.More

Took the recommendation of the fish - it was excellent. They don't have a menu in English and the waiter speaks only few words in English but my lame French and his efforts to understand did the trick.
