Underwhelmed. The reviews were stellar and we were expecting great things. Instead we got an uninspiring caprese salad with pale, grey tomatoes. The daily fish entree was bland and tasteless, as were the mashed potatoes. The pork knuckle was flavorless and dry.

We had the mussels which is probably better for sharing as it’s very large but they were lovely. I wanted to try something traditional so had the Flemish stew which didn’t disappoint the meat was melt in your mouth and gravy amazing . Other son...had beef skewer which was excellent. Chips came with everything but were of the frozen type but for the price could have been better. Waiter was excellent. Quirky place with views of a castle and atmosphere livelyMore

We didn´t book beforehand, but they were really welcoming even though the restaurant was quite busy. Great service and environment. I had lasagna- delicious and would definitely recommend trying. My partner had a beef dish (unsure of the name), he said it was really tender...and yummy. Portions were really decent. The only 'bad' thing I want to mention is that it was really hot- would have appreciated a bit of fresh air as the restaurant was full. Other than that we really enjoyed it!More

Once again, TA led us to the right spot. Wanted authentic Belgian food. Had the mussels in garlic cream and wine along with the Flemish stew. Both were excellent!!! In addition their beer recommendations were spot on.. Highly recommend. Also very close to the metro...stop, so very easy to find.More

We were there, 2 x Adults and 3 x kids, due to reviews on Tripadvisor and it surely did not disappoint. We had the traditional mussels which were amazing and the kids had Spagbol, Meatballs which they loved BUT the Lasagne is honestly the best...if ever tasted in my ife. Good food, good vibe and good service. A must in Brussels !!More

This is a lively, bustly place with a brisk turnover of enthusiastic and jovial customers, locals and visitors alike. That said you were not hurried, and the service was friendly and well paced. The decor is rustic and glowy, set over two floors. There is...a good range of Belgian and international dishes and an extensive choice of drinks including plenty of Belgian beers. Food and drink very economically priced. The complimentary lemoncillo at the end was very welcome. It’s a bit of a walk from the centre but unlike a reviewer below we did not find the location the slightest bit seedy! Perfectly safe. We had a window seat upstairs and enjoyed watching a diverse load of lasers by strolling happily along.More

We visited Le Bistro while vacationing in Brussels. We decided to make a reservation just in case and we were glad we did. The ambiance feels somewhat gothic with exposed brick, unique art, and dripping red candles encased in lanterns. The staff were all great...and the service was top-notch. I opted for the muscles which did not disappoint. I recommend dipping the bread they provide into the muscle broth. Yum!! We really enjoyed our meal at Le Bistro!More

I guess there’s a historical reason it’s called Le Bistro but it’s definitely not serving food quickly these days! Long waits but the food was very good indeed. It’s spread over several floors but reasonably well staffed so you get served. Steaks were very good...and reasonably priced excellent wine and beer. Situated in a somewhat seedy area.More

We made the reservation and arrived at the restaurant at 18:30 on Saturday, the first floor of the restaurant was already full, so we sat on the second floor overlooking a beautiful view. Waiters and manager were super friendly from the entrance to the restaurant...to the exit. I believe that the hours of 19/20hs you will find the restaurant completely full. The food and beer were great. I would love to go back to eat this delicious dish.More
