Nice and warm place.good atmosphere.nice menu.tasty .very good coffee capuccino.many others coffee shops chocolate shops and bakery nearby.like it very much.
Staff was very helpful, even though I could not speak French, they helped me with my order, which was Boulets with tomato sauce and fries, it was good, well cooked, well seasoned and well served, I believe they must have some expensive Chef preparing foods...as their price is somewhat not compatible with the plates. I understand paying for the whole experience, however my experience was as good as other places I visited in Brussels. Overall it was a good experience.More
We have been there for many times and I alwas had a meal from their seasonal menu. I have never been dissapointed even thought once the meal was a bit dry but it was quail so I kinda understood :) I can only recommend it.
We went there with a friend who invited me to eat traditionnal Belgium food. The waiters are nice but noisy and the food... honestly it can't be done by somebody who love cooking. The taste are flat and fat, and the price very expensive considering...the bad quality. Go away !More
We have been in this traditional Belgian brasserie a couple of times, during he mussels season. They prepare them really well and the atmosphere is nice , with a lovely terrace. Both times the server was friendly and welcoming. We will go back!
We passed the place several times with our car and the sunny weather made the place looking very nice. Many restaurants with all seats outside. We decided to sit at la becasse. The service was okay. Making some joke with my girls. Unfortunately no English...speaking. So order was a but complicated, but it worked. My wife got the wrong vine anyway. The meals were all very basic. Steak was dry and cheap meat. Lasagne for the girls was okay, but the sauce was a bit tasting like instant sauce. Finally the vegetarian meal: was a joke. 3 thin pieces cut out of a half zucchini with cheap cheese and sauce. No thanks! Finally paid 80 Euro.... hm. Drink a beer there and enjoy the live if sunny weather but not more.More
A place where you can eat, that's it. Nothing special on the menu, meat is OK. Not bad not good. The service is quite disappointing in particular. And the place is pretty old. Toilets are awful.
typical Belgian Brasserie with Belgian main dishes. You can find anything you want from salad to meat to fish. Very large menu. Typical Brasserie ambiance.
This place is a busy bee near the ULB campus. It was a chilly day at noon and the menu posted outside offered French onion soup. Perfect. Well, they didn't have it. The vegetarian plate on the menu of seasonal suggestions? Nope, they didn't have...that either. My jet-lagged brain caught the waiter's explanation in French along the lines of "these are only suggestions and we sometimes run out." They DID have the mushroom tartine and a pasta dish for my companion that was plentiful but bland. Food on nearby tables looked OK but most of the patrons seemed to stick to drinks. The place has a lot of local charm but overall a disappointing experience.More
After a little stroll we found this nice square in Ixelles. Beautiful weather, Belgium beer and lovely cakes. We enjoyed a latte macchiato with a Pavlova. Definitely we had better latte Macchiatos before, but the cake compensated everything. Brilliant place for a 30 min break.
We had lunch on this restaurant and, in general, it was good. We ordered the duck which was very good and the cordon blue with cheese sauce which was good. The service was also good, we went with our daughters and they located us in...a good table near a window. The only if (and it might be a big if) is that prices are too high. I think that 19 euros for a cordon blue it is too much.More
Restaurant with a good reputation. I was there end of April and had rhe Vienna Schnitzel. The meat was ok, the pannade was not as it is normally for a Wiener Schnitzel. Sardinas on the vegetables, which was quite bizzarre. I did not like the...fries with it. Waiters were very friendly. A little pricy for the quality.More
La Bécasse has been living for decades on its reputation, unfortunatelly my last visit was somehow disappointing. The carte offers a range of classical Belgian and French specialties, and the food is actually not bad but totally overpriced. For the price they ask, you could...have a really fine dinner in a much cosier setting. Also the decoration hasn't changed for 30 years, and a refresh is really needed. On the good side, the restaurant is ideally located, open very late, and we were welcomed very friendly although we were a large group, which is rather uncommon in Brussels.More
I have eaten at La Becasse about 10 times over 7 years and have always found the quality of the food pretty good for a brasserie, although a bit pricey. Service can be slow at peak times, but the staff's sense of humor makes up...for it. I personally find their selection of music pretty awful but at least it's not too loud. Good place for a nice lunch (if you're not in a hurry) in a student area.More
