We enjoyed a fine long lunch at La Porteuse d’Eau. The restaurant is an Art Nouveau gem and the immediate area has multiple Art Nouveau buildings worth a look.
Furthermore, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. And this is a place where the atmosphere invites you to linger and relax. Highly recommended.

Went for a quick lunch but ended up sitting one hour enjoying a beer and a Magret de Canard a l’orange. Really good taste and steaming hot. Nice atmosphere - a bit slow service.

A charming and quirky restaurant that I am so pleased to have visited. We sat upstairs which was slightly quieter, but the beautiful roof was lovely to sit under. Such friendly and helpful staff that made us feel so welcome. Lovely food with an interesting menu and great drink on offer too.

Great lunch, friendly staff, glorious building and only 10 minutes walk from Brussels Midi station. Much better to come here than eat at the station. It was busy on Sunday so we had to wait. Not a problem for us as we weren’t in a rush but you might want to book just in case

We showed up for a weeknight dinner without a reservation and were graciously accommodated. Beautiful architecture and décor. Excellent service. Authentic Belgian cuisine. We enjoyed this venue as a quiet respite after a "touristic" day in Brussels.

Walked up to La Porteuse d'Eau on Saturday night with no reservation, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome and the food and the service were fantastic.

Such a beautiful, authentic, art nouveau restaurant! Just enter and you’ll be suddenly transported back in time ! The staff was welcoming, the moules we had were delicious. Other dishes, like the carbonnade flamande, were ok. But this is quite a nice place to take your friends visiting Brussels.

Beautifull Art Nouveau restaurant, which has not yet been turned into a tourist trap, a high-priced bobo m'as-tu-vu place or a mediocre "adaptation to modern times".
La Porteuse d'Eau has kept its peculiar character and unspoiled decoration.
Don't go there for high ambition gastronomy. Their choice is for traditionnal dishes, à la bonne franquette, professionally prepared and served, and priced accordingly. That makes an excellent value-for-money proposition. Even more importantly, this offering is a perfect complement to the architectural setting for a genuine and enjoyable overall experience, as opposed to just hunt for a photogenic dish.
Last but not least, the staff was very friendly, and went out of its way to make sure that we had a nice evening. We left with the impression that we had touched the soul of the place, rather than just eating out in a restaurant of which there are thirteen in a dozen.

Oups.... 6.70 euro for an Orval beer. That’s like 2euro more than I have ever paid for an Orval. Otherwise the restaurant looks nice.

I have followed a friend’s indication and really enjoyed. There is a large variety of beers and limited choices of wines. The croquetes were nice and the mules excellent. I had mussels with mushrooms and bacon for a change and it proves a very good combination of flavors. Service is friendly.
