This restaurant is a local one to where we live and tonight was the first time we visited . I can’t explain why we’ve never been before but there’s always been a ‘certain something’ that has prevented us from entering. Tonight we took the plunge...but ended up sadly disappointed. We really do want to support local businesses, especially after Covid, but at the same time restaurants must also make an effort with their customer service. Complacency is dangerous. The gentlemen servers were very pleasant but service was slow, drinks were expensive and food, although well presented, was average. My husband was not happy with his pigeon dish and despite mentioning this, no effort was made to rectify. We both came away from the meal, €200 down but without that happy buzz of a good experience; my husband instead feeling resentful and with the feeling that we will not return. We have both experienced high end dining and have no problem paying for good food, however the staff need more training to recognise when customers are not happy and to have an appropriate and considerate response. Others may be happy and have a good experience but we won’t be returning in a hurry.More
