We liked the quiet environment and the way it's hidden away in the alleys. Great beer. I had the Malheur 12. It was great. I was there with friends and we could visit easily.

Strange little “pub” down a tiny alley. We asked for 2 beer tasting trays between 4 of us and got 8 different glasses, which was great. Definitely worth seeking out.

My favorite among the old near-hidden beer bars in Brussels. We're told the place has been in operation since the 1600s in one way or another, and it looks it (in a good way) - old wood tables, chairs, bar, low ceilings.

My twin brother Stephen was in command of the day ,we had a great day of sightseeing to do and a definite itinerary if great taverns to visit ,my twin certainly knows the best pubs and taverns in any city we visit,we has already been...to Au Bon Vieux Temps,Toone and A La Becasse ,three of the four famous alleyway taverns in this beer mad city ,this visit to A L'Imaige Nostre Dame completed the set ,it's a tavern we've been to on many occasions to Brussels,a tavern we always look forward to visiting. I love the look of this tavern ,interior is superb,a small serving bar, eclectic decor and furnishings, beer enamels adorning the walls ,stained glass windows and lots of seating options ,it's just a great tavern ,a tavern that's been serving great beers since 1664 ,it's certainly got some history attached to it. We were here on a Thursday afternoon ,tavern was busy with a great atmosphere ,we grabbed a table and had a study of their great beer list ,we both opted to have a great beer befitting such a wonderful tavern and we both chose La Corne from Ebly Brewery ,served in it's distinctive horn shaped glass complete with wooden stand was served in excellent condition ,we chilled out and took in the great tavern we were in. This beer is a strong ale weighing in at 8%ABV ,hints of coffee, chocolate with a malty taste ,it's an ale not to rush but to savour but being in such a fantastic tavern enjoying a quality ale why would you want to rush anything. We moved on after our great ale and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. A L'Imaige Nostre Dame is easy to locate along Rue Marche Aux Herbes . Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 11am till very ,very late. Well worth seeking out if you're in the area.More

A L'Imiage Nostre-Dame Estaminet on Rue Marché aux Herbes is a alley-way pub with bag's of character and is one of the three alley-way pub's located behind the church of St.Nicholas. Of the three alley-way pubs we went to this one was without a doubt...the best one that we went to and that is saying something as the other two are magnificent. This one is a bit rough and ready with its rustic look and feel'stained glass features and many more interesting items throughout the whole bar interior and wooden benches. Established in 1884 and housed in a superb building that dates from 1664'this excellent pub offer a superb range of Belgium beers which are well priced for this area. This is a brilliant pub and one we have visited many time's over the year's as there is always an excellent atmosphere in here. This was our first visit to this brilliant pub in two and a half year's due to the Covid-19 restrictions and what a nice time we had in this brilliant pub.We only stayed here for a few beers as we were on a pub crawl but it hasn't hardly changed. When we went here we had a Belgium beer from the Ebly brewery called La Corne'this superb beer is fairly strong and served in a distinct glass. The beer was superb and for this area of Brussels well priced. If you are ever in Brussels and you want to visit a traditional Belgium pub give this one a look you won't be disappointed. This pub is very easy to locate as its a minute's walk from De Brouckère bus or tram stop.(This is my first review of A L'Imiage Nostre-Dame Estaminet). Opening Hours. Monday-Wednesday-11.00-01.00. Thursday-Saturday-11.00-03.00. Sunday-11.00-01.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. De Brouckère bus stop. Tram Stop. De Brouckère tram stop.More

Nice place to have drinks in the center of Brussels. The prices are okay and the beer was really good but the staff was not that great, I don't know if it's due to the number of guests but we waited around 15min to get...served. Other than that, a very nice place.More

Great pub, with an excellent selection of Trappist beers. Only found it because we did a private beer tour.

A l'Imaige Nostre-Dame was known as a nice and typical place for a drink in the center of Brussels. We have been very badly surprised on how the place is now... Dirty tables, nice choice of beer, indeed, but the glasses are not always clean,...customers at the bar seem to stay there during the whole day and very expensive price. For two beers (fortunately in clean glasses), we have paid 10€. Probably the last time I went there...More

Ok, we walked by 2-3 times before we found the little alleyway into this hidden gem. It’s a tiny little place that only locals normally go to. We had a cheese & sausage tray and we each tried a flight of beer. Fun to be...able to try several beers and sit & relax away from the crowds. You only have to find it!More

As soon as I saw the narrow alley guiding me to this place, I knew it was worth a look. Seems like a popular spot for the locals as the barkeep was in steady conversation with those on the makeshift patio outside the entrance. He...was friendly and welcoming, offering us advice on the different beers that were available. The decor is very eclectic and one could spend a good hour or more looking around (much like an "I Spy" book). It's a no nonsense kind of place that's there for gathering rather than impressing. Around the corner from our seats, a local patron (I assume) was having a midday snooze, which added to the unique experience. Definitely worth a look if you want something off the beaten path and away from the excessive tourism. I was glad to have visited.More

A hidden gem of a bar. Down an alley, and a perfect escape from the crowds of the street. I went in for one beer and stayed for three. Made friends with the bartender and will now forever recommend this place. Not the most extensive...selection, but a good variety and a wonderful taste of "of the beaten path" in downtown Brussels.More

Hidden down an alleyway off Rue du Marches Aux Herbes (look out for the red Duval sign above the entrance archway) A l'Imaige Nostre-Dame pertains to be one of the oldest bars in Brussels. A fairly small pokey two room bar with an additional courtyard...space outside that you have to walk through to enter, it doesn’t take a lot of people to make this one very busy. A decent range of Belgium beers on tap and available in bottle this is a good traditional Brussels bar experience worth searching out.More

Four of the most historically important and famous pubs to be found in Brussels are located a stones throw from the Grote Markt, all found down alleyways and all are pubs I eagerly look forward to visiting on any holiday I take to this most...eclectic of city's, they are,1, Toone, 2, A La Becasse, 3,Au Bon Bieux Temps and this pub namely A L' Imaige Nostre Dame . A L'Imaige Nostre Dame was the first of the four we visited ,a rusty ancient pub sign directs you down an alleyway, theres a tiny courtyard with a few tables and chairs and as decor cool beer advertising enamels on the stone walls, walking in to this tiny two roomed pub you can feel the age ,the pubs been serving happy customers since 1664,a rustic looking serving bar festooned with banknotes from around the world, beer posters and enamels adorning the walls, eclectic decor and furnishings and despite its relatively small size plenty of seating options spread throughout this tiny pub, amazingly they have live music in here, had some great nights in here over the years listening to some great performers, its just one fabulous pub. My twin brother Stephen and I had jumped the train down from Antwerp were we had enjoyed a great four day holiday and we were staying in Brussels for 5 days, booked into our hotel quickly and headed straight out into the city centre around La Bourse, we went one pub, then headed to Fritland for the best fries in Brussels then onto A L'Imaige Nostre Dame,as it was a hot day we decided to start of with a light beer and we both opted to have a glass of Stella Artois beer to cut through the thirst, beers were served iced cold and sparkling by a very pleasant member of staff, we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. I enjoy Stella Artois beer, its such a great beer to enjoy on a hot day, light and hoppy ,very tasty indeed, while enjoying our beers my brother and I already had our next beers picked out and I went for Troubadour " magma " while my brother opted to have La Trappe " blond " both these beers were served in excellent condition. My beer was exceptional, a rich, malty beer bursting with taste,a beer not to rush but to savour but being in such a wonderful pub enjoying such a wonderful brew why would you want to rush anything, my brother also gave the thumbs up to his beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. A L'Imaige Nostre Dame is easy to locate on Rue Du Marche Aux Herbes. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 11am till Midnight. A wonderful pub, well worth checking out if your planning a holiday to Brussels.More
