This is a classic - full of locals, situated at the end of the galleries, and serving wholesome food in generous portions. Excellent wine list, and a lively (not raucous) atmosphere. A place to feel suitably Belgian!
We have lived in Belgium over 20 years and just found this restaurant last night on a stroll through the city. It is a very typical Brussels brasserie: good fresh food, the waiter wasn't fussed with my gluten intolerance, service was friendly but not over...More
Yes indeed, the service might not be friendly, the prices too steep and the tables too close to each other ... but somehow de l’Ogenblik gets to you (or, at least, got to me) ... and the reason is probably the never disappointing food!
Expect a rude reception. Waiters are unfriendly. Ours totally misunderstood our order, made in comprehensible French: as a couple we ordered one starter and two main courses, but only the starter and one main arrived (after a long wait). When we realised that the waiter...More
You could hardly call it service. The waiters treated us with disdain. They were rude and insulting when we asked about our starters which hadn’t been served an hour after ordering them. They obviously make no effort whatsoever to be pleasant to customers but because...More
Strolling through Brussels to find a place to eat, we ran into this lovely place by chance (road ahead was closed, had to take a left into the Prinsengalerij). Lovely surroundings, authetic atmosphere. Service friendly, great food and wine.
Smallish, brasserie-style restaurant that, in its decor, is authentic and representative of old-word Brussels. Typical brasserie restaurant. More than 50 years old. Good ambiance and delicious typical meals. We went twice there during our business week in Brussels. Once the service was a bit long, but we were more than 15 at the same table. Waiters have a good...More
what has happened? new management or ?? still nicer restaurant, same setting, same menu but the attentive, humanistic edge is gone of the service and the food seems to be executed less precise, a bit more commercial ... too bad, was my favourite winter place
Travelling alone is not always funny, but the reception in this restaurant merits a serious mention. Come early and relax. The dishes are classic Belgian brasserie, and the quality is astonishing. Recommended !!!!!
