We were a group of 14, booked a week in advance (the place is very small, if you intend to eat here book it first!). There is a selection of national dishes ( includes always meat and fish, no options for vegans or vegeterians). The...owner is extremely nice and polite, and yes, he does everything by himself: cooks, serves, cleans: all. And it works. We didn t wait a long time to be served, and he also had other tables to serve. The plates were tasty and well presented. The problem is the price: I am not going to discuss whether the food is over priced or not (but expect small portions), rather about the drinks: there is no single drink that costs less than 5€. Seriously, paying for a Jupiler (25cl) 5€ is a scam. Their THB national beer (from the can, not even glass bottle) costed 7€!!!! Same for all other drinks: even the coffee costs 5€!!!! I am happy to have tried this restaurant but will not be back due to the unreseanoble prices.More

The restaurant is tiny but centrally located in Brussels. Make sure to reserve and get a table away from the front door, it can be annoying when people open/close the door and it’s cold outside! The food was good but not amazing if you are...already familiar with Malagasy cuisine. It is a good spot if you want to try it - just don’t be in a hurry as the service is very very slow. Not the best if your kids aren’t patient enough. We were in on Saturday night and the restaurant was fully booked. Maybe we’ll come back in a few years hoping the service got better!More

The good - the owner was really friendly, the menu was interesting and different, restaurant was nicely decorated and cosy, the mixed starters were tasty and one of the main courses was good. The not so good - service was really slow, I had it...expected it reading through other reviews but everything took forever and the dirty plates were left on the table until the next course arrived which was a long time later. It’s a small place and the people next to us were basically eating off the same table as us so we had no privacy. Finally, and I know that everyone’s taste is different but one of the main courses (saucisse) was nothing special. I’m happy that we tried it but I don’t think we’ll be going again.More

The restaurant is normally closed for lunch but opens upon request if asked in advance. No problem to open even for two quests only which was our case. We did not regret having selected this restaurant ! Having been here one of the hottest days...in Brussels in summer 2019, we were offered a nice soft drink with a tasty magic Indian ocean touch. The service is very pleasant, all necessary explanations about Malgache food are provided with lot of patience. Our choice based on sea food under different preparations was excellent. A real Indian ocean islands taste is outstanding and reminds vacation in Madagascar and surrounding islands. This restaurant is a real hidden gem for tropical tastes and Indian ocean culinary sensations. The lychees ice-cream with "Rhum arrangé" is a must ! A place to revisit and to recommend to all tropical tastes’ lovers.More

The restaurant has a very pleasant, cosy atmosphere. However, it is poorly organized. With only one person cooking for abour 25 people, we had to wait over an hour to get three main dishes. Portions are not abundant, the quality is good but not outstanding....The bill was a bit overpriced: 28€ for a main and two glasses of wine. Overall the food and the atmosphere were good, but the prices and, most of all, the waiting time affect the experience considerably.More

What a lovely evening! We had cocktails to start (Madagasikara and Ylang-ylang) which were really nice and quite boozy. Then we shared the chef's selection of starters which were tasty and varied. We then got the chicken, peanut and coconut milk dish and the national...dish (beef and chicken stew) which were absolutely delicious. Overall we were very impressed with the quality of the food and the care taken in its preparation. I'd recommend a visit.More

Small nice restaurant in the heart of Brussels, it claims to be (maybe rightfully so) the only Madagascan restaurant in Belgium. And there's no need for another one, 'cause this one is really actually really good. They serve beautifully composed and very tasty dishes. We...tried 3 different things and everything was delicious. Waiting time was not long, the service nice, the place clean. Maybe just a little overpriced, but all together, a good choice.More

Went last night to that little restaurant in Place St.Catherine! Cosy and warm atmosphere. It's decoration is amazing and traditional. We ordered the cocktail Madagasikara with rum. It was very tasty. Personally I found it a bit expensive (8,5e) for it's size and the quantity...of rum-that is why the 4 stars. The salads are extraordinary. Everything was absolutely fresh!! Our main dishes heaven! We ordered the big ocean shrimps and the chicken with peanut sauce. Excellent!!! We were hesitating for dessert because we were full already. They seemed absolutely original! Next time we will try for sure. The service was ok, the lady was kind. The overall experience was great and I definitely recommend it. P.S. Just a tip for your drinks- put a little more alcohol inside and in a bigger glass and it will be perfect!More

I was in Brussels for work and happened to stay not far from this place. Actually, it was my colleague who told me about this place. Anyway, we were supposed to have a dinner at this place one night. We called for a reservation but...apparently the lady forgot to add our reservation so we couldnt dine in. So i returned to this place by myself on another day. I ordered the royal dish that night but only i only ended up getting the romazava. it was delicious regardless. Love the spiciness, savory and it was good for winter. But i wish i had tried the entire royal dish. FYI, their menu is only on Dutch and French. It was a bit hard for me to understand what they serve. The staffs there speak little english too. So it was a bit hard to communicate.More

Friendly Staff (one lady was doing all the serving, welcoming, billing part) and one cook. Service took a little long as only one man was doing all, but was worth the wait. Each item on the menu was different and authentic. On the pricey side....On the whole a good outing.More

Nice discovery for a dinner with colleagues. Did not like their rice soup that - not really my kind of thing, but the hot starters and the shrimps were very good. Loved their mango and Madagascar pepper dessert. Very friendly staff, English speaking also.

The place is small, so you have to reserve your table, it's very colorful and cozy! there's only two people serving you, one in the kitchen and one at the tables, the lady serving us was so kind and gentle! she took our coats and...explained the dishes, all was DELICIOUS! I took their favourite food (as they claim on the menu), rice flavoured with coconut, meat and tomatoes! yummy!!! and for dessert we wanted Mango (the more pricey dessert) but the lady said to us: if you want to take it ok, but I would rather not, today we have not very good Mango! so thoughtful of her! and so we took the ice cream with sweet potato and penauts LOVE IT ! Defenitely come back!!!!More
