Brosella is in a wonderful setting on the picturesque and car-free 18th Century Place des Martyrs, where it has its terrace. Only a short walk from the Grand Place, it is an ideal place to enjoy the sun (or shelter from the rain) while having a reasonably priced, typical Belgian dish. Try carbonnade à la flamande, a steak, mussels or blanquette de veau or a vegetarian dish. In the mornings they serve breakfast, at lunch there is a fixed-price menu and you can eat à la carte also in the evening. Highly recommended.

Because café and restaurant Brossella is located on the corner of the classical eighteenth century Place des Martyrs, I somehow expected the interior to be very classy. It rather wasn’t. Wanting to order a glass of wine, I asked the waiter about the choice of wine by the glass, and he asked, “Which colour?” Brosella is definitely not a wine bar. But the location is beautiful, and the service was very attentive and friendly. I might go back to try the food in the summer when it is possible to sit outdoors.

Big disappointment (except for the fries)
Menu glass of red house wine, vol au vent with fries and dame blanche
Red wine: bone dry and bitter aftertaste
Vol au vent: rather unflavoured water crap, pale, watery, fillets that just seemed cooked, served in deep plate with soaked bottom pasty that turned out to be only half a pasty, industrially prepared and not tasty
French fries: served in basket and very tasty

Worst place I sat in our entire weekend in Brussels. Maybe it was a bad day, but I'll never set foot here again. The breakfast options are bad and the price does not reflect what it is worth. We waited 50 minutes to receive salad without sauce, a dirty hard-boiled egg, juice from a carton and lukewarm coffee. All the products were purchased in the local store, opened and placed on the plate as is. We expressed our disappointment and were treated poorly. The breakfast option is like drinking bad coffee for 20 euros.

Solo hungry traveller after lots of walking discovered this place - looks nice and welcoming and menu has some interesting dishes.
The service was really good! The waitress helped me pick a starter and I ended up with croquets and then chose the cordon bleu.
The food was pretty good, although I was starving! Croquettes were ok, a bit bland. But the cordon bleu was great, the cheese was quite strong but I liked it.
Only negative is the music, was really loud and depressing love songs. Please turn it off or down!

We ate here twice. The food is well priced, cooked very well and the staff are amazing. We had the Cheese Burger, Scampi Linguini, Modules Mariniere and Fish and Chips. All excellent. Located just to the side of the Place de Martyrs, the outdoor dining is very pleasant.

After a poor experience earlier in the day we found this place.
Waiter was great. Knew the menu, spoke English, advised on beer and wine and on foods to have.
Food was excellent, my wife like the recommended wine and I like the beer suggested.
It was a quiet dinner time for the restaurant but we enjoyed the old world atmosphere.
There is a monument of the Martyrs

If conversation is a factor, this is the perfect place. Not a lot of business and modest menu with food certainly very pleasant yet enjoyable. Visited with five others and every one was pleased. There may be better restaurants in Brussels yet for our purposes it was great.

Well located on the ‘martelarenplein’ in central Brussels. Used to go there often when living next door. Friendly service and good basic lunches at decent prices. And a quiet space a few metres from bustle of rue neuve. Nothing fancy but interesting and good value for money, hence a top rating ( don’t expect a star resto though!)

Very bad service! Unpleasant waiter! We were served some bread while waiting for the dishes but then the waiter took it away from us, telling us that we had to pay for it because we had ordered some "croque-monsieur". Disrespectful waiter as well when paying the check even though he was the one who had made a mistake! Absolutely not recommended place!

The alley is quiet and near a revered Belgian monument. The service was great. Our waiter recommended a great beer and a good meal. The flemish stew was awesome. The flavors were wonderful and went even better with the fries. The smoked salmon on the pasta was delicious. Both of our meals were great. We'd definitely return if we were in the area again.

My husband and I were visiting the Place Des Martyrs and looked at this restaurant located in front of it. We decided to have lunch there. I asked for a "meal of the day" (pork meat with potatoes) and my husband asked for a bolognese spaghetti. Both of them was delicious and the price and service were good.

We arrived on a lovely Saturday afternoon having visited a few times previously.
We sat down and ordered two beers, my husband a lasagne and myself a Caprese salad.
We waited almost 20 minutes for the beers and an hour and ten minutes for the food, when I asked how much longer our food would be after nearly an hour, I was told it was taking a while because although I’d ordered salad my husband had ordered a lasagne (we have eaten here a few times previously and lasagne had never taken that long)
Other people arrived after us and had starter and main and others had arrived, eaten and left.
Once we’d eaten our bread arrived.
Such a shame as we have enjoyed this place in the past, very annoying.
