We eat out at a lot of different places, enjoy all types of food and will pay more than average on occasion. We know what well cooked food is. OH had looked at local places to eat during our trip to Brussels and saw all...the good reviews for this one that was a short walk from where we were staying. We asked if there was a table free when they were open for lunch but we had not booked. We were obviously just visiting Brussels and were not smartly dressed. We were very grudgingly offered a table on the condition we had one hour and had to leave at 1pm. Personally I would have preferred it if they had just said they were fully booked as I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable and out of place in my life. I genuinely wish I could say the food was amazing but for us it simply wasn't. We would have said at the time but were told we only had an hour so felt we could not complain. OH asked for his veal to be medium rare but it was barely pink and my pheasant was overcooked and dry. It was all presented beautifully and it was tasty despite not being quite right. We did mention the veal to the waiter when he collected our plates so this review will not be a surprise. The puddings were nice so I could recommend those. Try the Cafe Liege when you visit. It is quite sad that the most expensive meal we had was probably the worst during our trip.More

went there for lunch - the kitchen was closing soon after we got there so we were not able to get appetizers but they accommodated us anyway. wr got meatballs, fish, chicken in puff pastry - all were so good!

This is my favourite restaurant in Brussels. The dishes are delicious, the atmosphere is of an old fashioned bistrot the service is excellent. I am really surprised with comments made by other people regarding rudeness of staff. I am always welcome, eventhough I go to...Brussels only once or twice a year and I am always accommodated even without making a reservation. A truly great restaurant.More

A well designed interior adds sophistication to the first impression of this restaurant. The staff are, as you would expect, well trained and attentive. Tables nicely spaced with fabric tablecloths and napkins, and there is much more to this place than the ground floor. No...idea where they put all those people! The menu is well chosen and well prepared, adding interesting touches to Brussels bistro fare. North Sea shrimp croquettes a bit on the industrial side, though. Very helpful waiter gave useful advice on wines by the glass: always a plus. Just a very pleasant evening.More

This lovely little restaurant in the Sablon area of Brussels is great. We were a group of 5, and went there for dinner. Menus are available in English, French and Dutch. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy - similar to French bistros. The food...menu is extensive with plenty of suggestions as well as some daily specials. Everything we had was very tasty - highly recommend the pain perdu for desert!! Good wine list with French and Italian labels. Service was friendly by all staff, despite being a bit slow to bring out deserts (about 20mn wait). Final bill was very descent if you take into account the quality. Highly recommend!More

This evening I try to eat in this restaurant with my family and other friends. At the first moment the waiter says us that there isn't place (maybe cause he saw some children) than he found the places for all. Then we sit down and...the table where is sitting my daughter fall down on her legs (cause the top didn't fix on the base) with the glasses.....the staff instead say sorry and worried for my daughter ask me explications!!! Terrible behavior. I don't have words!!!More

We were asked to leave this restaurant, never in my life have I been so humiliated, my husband asked for two beers and he was told he’d be better finding a bar elsewhere, even though there was beer on the menu. I’ve eaten in Michelin...star restaurants before and this doesn’t deserve to carry the rating.More

Truely dreadful service. Waited half an hour for a menu, and only got it after trying to stop waiters repeatedly. The waiters are expert at ignoring. No sign of any management. The only thing that arrived promptly was the bill. As for the food, if...you don’t count my husband getting the wrong starter and putting up with it out of desperation, it was reasonable but very expensive for what it was. I strongly suggest you avoid this restaurant.More

We went with a reservation that was not on the system(!?). We finally sat outside where the service was awful. They took forever to take the order and we waited an hour for our food. One of the waiters directly avoided us as we asked...for more drinks. The food was nothing special. A pretentious restaurant with poor service. We went for desert a couple of blocks away at Au Vieux San Martin: experienced waiters, the food looked great, and the place was full. A much better option!!!More

Good food and good menu. The waiters were very efficient and friendly but the women (manager?) who “welcomed” us wasn’t hospitable at all and did not want to place us at a table even though there were various tables free. After waiting 2 minutes (even...though we had reserved) a waiter came to seat us. The atmosphere, the food and the waiters dedication are remarkable but the short-haired blonde woman gave us a cold and unwelcome feeling and unforgettable this made the experience less enjoyable.More

Business lunch - good service but 20% of the dishes no longer available (the best ones). My tip: Make sure your favourites are still in the men/à la carte before you book at table…
