I've visited a lot of toprestaurants all over the world.
This is one of them. I must say it was a little bit special. You don"t go there for a big steak. It was a fixed menu with about 8 or 10 small portions, but every portion was a gem. Original, rich taste, good looking, surprising, ... I enjoyed it from the start till the end.
What can be improved? Menu is in French, which is for people speaking another language not always easy to understand. Wines (we tasted 2 whites and 2 red ones) were all top. Maybe the portions might be a little bigger. And the accoustic makes sometimes a conversation difficult to understand.
Due to Corona/Covid I suppose the distance between the tables was bigger than normal, which was good.
Gentle service!
Will I go back. Certainly

I can only join all those who wear La Buvette aux Nudes: everything, literally everything, is remarkable!
The popular butchery decor of yesteryear does not suggest that we will be served like princes and that we will eat in the finest way possible. Even aperitifs are out of the ordinary!
You have to trust the Chef blindly: the unique menu (see the restaurant's website) is for each service of the great gastronomic art and wine pairing is not left out. When the professionalism of all the actors is colored with unprecedented creativity and natural kindness, the play becomes a pure pleasure...
And it's a double cherry here that sits on the cake: 1) unlike many addresses where quality and quantity are contradictory, one does not assume that the customer must have a bird's appetite and 2) one does not consider that all lovers of fine cuisine are necessarily called Rothschild.
In short, a table to recommend rather ten times than once!

Tasting menu of 5 courses. The artichoke with orange and a cashew cream, and the intense but tiny citrus gel in the dashi served with the maigre (white sea bass) would be two highlights. A superb whipped chickpea butter with sumac was the star thing.
My guess is the only blocker to an upgrade from a guide mention to a Michelin star is the upstairs bathroom access and the upstairs dining room carpet! Downstairs is small and keeps the original butcher shop marble counters as tables; with high and comfortably chairs. Staff are very professional and friendly. I'll be back ...

We were a party of 3, on a Wednesday evening. Good reception, nice setting, you enter an old butcher's shop. Nice!
Unfortunately, this is the only positive thing I can write about this restaurant. We had the menu with matched wines. None of the dishes we received were really at the right temperature, they were barely lukewarm. When I mentioned this to the waiter with the first starter, he said it was a cold dish. Very strange for a dish with fried mushrooms and potato espuma?!
The next dish was Lotte, not only with a rather tasteless sauce, but also served raw! Lotte may still be served a little glassy, but it should absolutely no longer be bloody and raw on the inside. The main course we then received was half a chicken fillet of Mechelen cuckoo, served with some components that had nothing to do with each other on the plate and that did not constitute a tasty dish. Unfortunately we found this of all the dishes we received that evening.
Lukewarm, bland and tasteless…
The “adapted” wine we ordered always arrived too late, when our dish was already finished. The waiter laughingly told us that we ate too quickly…. Of course we knew better, wine comes to the table before the dish is served. We were also not shown a single wine bottle that evening, the wine was served at the bar and not presented to the customers.
When we got another sandwich after the 2nd starter, I asked a waitress for some more butter. He casually reported that only 1 piece of butter could be served per table!?? Should we eat our bread dry, I asked, and against her thought, she still brought me some butter.
No, there is still quite a bit of work to be done here. A shame, because it is a nice building with a lot of potential.
Anyway, we will never come back.

I don't usually leave comments publicly. However, La Buvette is an exception and deserves to be distinguished. I had the pleasure of returning there last week and, it is clear that this last experience left me once again with a taste for a pleasant, fair and delicately festive composition to bring out the best in a meal in good company.
In this sense, the Buvette is not only a truly remarkable setting, contemporary cuisine respecting the products, an appreciable and avant-garde selection of wines, respectful service, at the right pace and at the right distance. It is the balance of a thoughtful staging, which allows everyone to be at ease to create sincere conviviality.
This constant, ultimately rare, is certainly the fruit of a long-term investment, in the service of taste and others. Well done to the Buvette and see you next time!

This is the second time we have been to Brussels and also to la Buvette. Excellent, creative menu, wonderfully velvety grilled aubergine, the perfectly cooked red mullet with fenchekimchi was great, very delicious also the langoustine. The sous vide cooked lamb seasoned with asparagus and dukka also delighted us. The service was very attentive and friendly, the wine accompaniment skilful and not exactly stingy poured.
After a successful strawberry dessert we came home very excited.
Next time we visit Brussels, La Buvette will surely be back on our schedule.

An exceptional restaurant in Brussels, to discover and rediscover thanks to its regularly updated menu. The atmosphere combines warmth and elegance without falling into pretension. The service is excellent. The cuisine, both simple and inventive, is distinguished by its work on textures and great harmony in the succession of dishes. The quality of the menu is there for a reasonable price in the gastronomic register. An address that I will remember!

Solo evening in this bistronomic restaurant in the Saint-Gilles district. I am seated near the window in the first room at the entrance. Atypical decor with bathroom racks on the wall. Kind welcome.
5-course menu + appetizers + sweets. In terms of cooking, I discovered beautiful blends, daring and well-mastered cuisine. The service was up to par, at a good pace.
The big downside of the evening was the draft that I had to endure all evening near the window. The insulation is non-existent and it was very cold outside that evening.
An auxiliary heater was installed to warm the room but it was of no use. The pleasure took a hit and digestion was difficult.
Too bad, because without that, I would have appreciated the menu at its true value.

nice setting but a little noisy (I don't think it's noisy every evening but there was a table of friends who made a lot of noise). The interesting and balanced tasting menu. Wanting to make a detailed comment, I find their dishes a little too complex and with too many ingredients which sometimes confuse the palate.
Overall, it's still very good. Friendly and competent waiters but the service is a little too slow. Three hours for a 6-course menu is definitely too much

I'm from Brussels, and I regularly try establishments that I don't know. I discovered by chance this superb little restaurant with an original setting, a former art deco horse butcher's shop. The cuisine is truly gourmet, the presentation of the plates is refined, and are perfectly balanced. No menu, just a tasting menu. Two points should be improved. The timing between dishes is a little long (but the service is professional), and the wine list could be a little more extensive. It will probably come. Thank you for this beautiful evening.

This restaurant is located in a very nice part of Brussels. The premises are trendy and nice, particularly on the ground foor. Service is friendly and professional, and we like the concept with a set tasting menu. The food is nouvelle cusine and nicely presented - which is always the case for this kind of cuisine. But that is not enough. It has to taste good as well. All dishes were indeed ok, but unfortunately a bit bland. Maybe their next menu will be better.

Room on the ground floor quiet and atypical decoration.
We had excellent food. The tastes could be even more impactful but the originality of the dishes and taste combinations is worked and very good.
Award-winning value and service is impeccable. We had a great evening.

IN THE TOP!!!
We had a great time, it was delicious!
The dishes were divine, highlighting seasonal produce and the wine pairing was perfect.
The service was attentive and impeccable.
The restaurant is located in a former horse butcher's shop from the 1930s, an original and charming place in a typically Brussels neighborhood.
A real favorite to share!

We were in Brussels for 1 full day, and of all the restaurants available we chose to eat at La Buvette. Simply stated, it was divine. Sadly, we had to expedite our dinner, and the staff pulled it off flawlessly. The menu was creative; beautiful; and beyond delicious. La Buvette is not to be missed.
